Discussing Our Concerns, Awesome Ribs, Getting Cleaned and Organized.

Our Location today is La Posa South L.T.V.A., Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.

By 7:30 this morning I was tired of staring at the ceiling and got up to start my day. The first thing I noticed as I started opening the Window Shades was the heavy Cloud Cover in the sky. When the Sun would finally make its appearance, it would only be for a few minutes before it would slide from view behind the Clouds. It seems that the Clouds get caught on the high peaks of the mountains and they hold them in place.

It didn’t take long to get things ready for breakfast before I got started on my morning reading on my Computer. I even got carried away leaving some comments before realizing that I had let Kathy sleep in again. To wake her up I simply opened the Window Shades upstairs then turned the Stovetop Burner on. The noise of the Ignitor acts like an alarm that has more affect waking Kathy then my touch or voice.
The colour on the Nose and Slide are different then
the colour the Body Shop used to fix the crack.
As we ate breakfast we discussed some of the things we have heard about what Jayco plans to do to repair our trailer at their Factory. We’ve had a number of people point out that the Crack by our bedroom slide is a Flex Crack in the outer skin and not a Structural Crack in the upper frame. The persons that first shouted Structural issues was the Body Shop that first fixed the crack and didn’t even match the paint colour properly.
The Flex Crack that is giving us Nightmares.
Back when I wrote about it in August and our friends Rick and Elaine read about it they immediately called us from New Brunswick advising me how to check different things to tell the difference and how the repair should have been done. The thought of being out of our Home for nearly Two Months is not something either of us wants. We were told that Jayco would be replacing the entire Wall and Cabinets which would be taking away the Modifications that we have already made. They would not refund us or leave those improvements alone.

We love the desert but there is plenty of dust that gets blown in from the Wind and people driving by thinking that the speed limit doesn’t apply to them. Besides RVs are not leakproof. After getting our morning reading and chores completed Kathy wanted to start cleaning the inside of the trailer but it was already past noon so I warmed up a can of Soup and it was more then enough for our lunch.
We just love the constantly changing skies.
While Kathy started Dusting and Vacuuming upstairs I sat outside in a chair and spoke with Stephanie at Leisure Trailer back in Lakeshore. I discussed our concerns about wanting the Trailer properly fixed but were in agreement as to what others were saying about it being a Flex Crack not being a Structural issue. I also informed her of other concerns we were having. She asked for pictures that I’ll E-mail her and she’s going to correspond with Jayco. She also told me Leisure Trailer is now using a different Body Shop for their repairs.
It just takes your breathe away.
When I told Kathy about the conversation she felt a bit more enthusiastic. If we can have the repairs done properly near Home we won’t have to empty the trailer of all personal items. We won’t have to rent a storage unit to put those belongings into and we might only be out of our Home for a week to ten days.
Caesar Salad.
Kathy went back to her cleaning while I started emptying the Basement. With all the modifications I have been trying to do it got a little messy, plus I had taken our Folding Tables and Benches out on Saturday to bring to the Blogger-Fest and they were still in the backseat of the Truck. It took some time plus lots of water for both Kathy and I to get through this 79 F (26 C) temperature. Kathy was too worn out from the heat that she didn’t finish the downstairs today but that’s the advantage of being retired, there’s always tomorrow.
This was sliced after it was on mu plate.
For supper I grilled some Boneless Pork Ribs that Kathy picked up at Road Runner grocery store yesterday on the grill mat on the Weber Q.  Since they were so thick I used the Low and Slow method that George from OurAwesome Travels is always stressing. Kathy was busy inside making a Caesar Salad that we ate while the Ribs were cooking. We each had our fill with just a single piece of meat and we still have a piece the size of a small roast for more meals. For dessert we had a piece of Cherry Pie
Cherry Pie.
Since there have been such long lines at the Dump Station for the last two weeks, our neighbour Wayne suggested going at Dusk because there’s normally no one there. While Kathy washed the dishes, I emptied our Waste Tanks and drove off to the Dump Station. Just like Wayne said there was nobody there and I was heading Home in less then Five Minutes.

We missed most of the Phoenix News so we watched the Weather Channel for a short while. We scanned the other channels that we receive “Over the Air” and found most were movies from the Seventies and programs that our kids watched as they were growing up.

Not sure what we’ll be doing tomorrow but I think we’ll be getting out for the day. Thanks for following along, feel free to leave a comment and click on the pictures to enlarge them. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

Krackers

You know you're getting old when

you no longer think of speed limits as a challenge.

  1. Your crack looks exactly like the crack we had on our new Keystone. We took it to Camping World RV in TN because that's where we happen to be at the time. The frame weld had come undone. They rewelded it and put a added support on per Keystone direction. We had a couple of other warranty issues
too so they had RV for 3 days. We could have stayed in it every night but left it and went to visit family for a few days. It has been fine since and that was 2 years ago.

  2. I sure hope you can get the crack fixed. It's really frustrating not to know exactly what's causing it.

LOVE cherry pie and the beautiful Arizona sky!

  3. Hope the crack is
n't a frame fracture, but until they dig inside they won't know for sure. Very frustrating but hopefully Jayco will stand behind their product and fix it right.
