Thanksgiving Day Celebration, Fool’s Gold and Plans To Go Exploring.

Our Location today is North Ranch, Congress, Arizona, U.S.A.

Even after forcing ourselves to stay awake later then we wanted last night we were both out of bed just before and after 8:00 MST this morning. We chose to have muffins for our breakfast knowing that they would tide us over slightly into the afternoon. It felt nice to be able to not only open the Window Shades but the Windows themselves to allow the comfortable fresh air inside. We’ll be keeping an eye on the forecasts because these days will soon be coming to an end we’ll see more seasonal temperatures as we start the new week.

All the tables had theme Centerpieces.
After finishing our Coffee/Tea at the Computers we continued lazing around a while longer. We both realized that since most of our afternoon today would be spent with others there were no practical projects that we could even begin to start. While I straightened up the bedroom Kathy finished making the Ambrosia Fruit Salad that we would be bringing along this afternoon. We each had a cookie when we started feeling the need to have lunch because we knew that we’d be feasting soon.

Everyone's Share table was next to the table we ate at.
Thinking we would rather be early then late we decided to head over to the Activity Center around 1:30. Standing in the shade by our door was not a problem but when Kathy stepped foot into the direct Sunlight she nearly passed out. Even though it was only a short walk she hasn’t had time to climatize herself to this dry heat.
Cliff and Anita shared our table.
As did Judy and Hank.
Monty and Susan left before i could get their Pictures
We weren’t the only ones that parked our vehicle at the Activity Center and everyone inside seemed in a Happy-Go-Lucky mood because they were getting together with friends to celebrate Thanksgiving. This is the first time that we have attended this style of Pot-Luck meal before. The park supplied the Turkey while everyone in attendance brought just enough of a side dish to feed those seated at their own table. Someone at our table brought Shrimp and Lobster all on the same plate. Since the Shrimp was touching the Lobster Kathy couldn’t even have that because of her allergy to Shrimp. We had fun finding out where everyone was from and we also found out that we were all set up in the Transient Section of the Park.
Had to try a little of everything.
Good Dinner.
It was past 3:00 when we said our “See-you-laters” to everyone as the hall emptied out. Instead of driving directly back Home I wanted to look around the Park. There are lots of Park Models and Lots that are “For Sale”. Not one site was set up the same but they were all well taken care of. There was one corner lot that had a huge Pyrite Stone (Fool’s Gold) mounted in their front yard. It had to be well over a Ton in weight and the way the Sun reflected from it was quite impressive. We were also quite surprised as to how large the Park actually is because it doesn’t seem that way from near the road.
One big piece of Fools Gold.
Back Home we transferred the remaining Leftovers that we had to much smaller containers. We’d eaten sensibly by not over eating so around 7:30 we worked together to make a small Western Omelet that we shared along with Mixed Fruit on Sponge Cake Cups for dessert.

Tonight's Sunset and
our Small Omelets and Fruit Cup Cakes.
Tomorrow we’ll get a few things done here before we go exploring in a different direction. Thanks for following along, feel free to leave a comment and click on the pictures to enlarge them. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
