Back To Fort Myers.

Our Location today is Moore Haven, Florida, U.S.A.

It was cool enough last night that even Kathy kept the covers on while she slept. After waking at an early hour and still feeling tired I closed my eyes for only a second or two and noticed that the clock had jumped forward by a couple of hours. It was nearly 8:00 by the time we sat to have breakfast. As soon as we’d eaten Kathy went to the computer to check messages while I took a morning shower to finish waking myself up.

As I’d figured last night we’d be leaving the park close to 10:00 after packing the computers and stopping to drop off the trash and we were right on schedule. Our destination for the day was back to Fort Myers and again we had a number of stops to make. The first place was back to Camping World as they called on Monday saying that our Fantastic Fan had arrived and they’d be holding it for us. After installing the screen door push bar the other day we decided to add a screen protector grill on as well plus we noticed that they had gotten in the breathable mats they didn’t have the other day. Yes going to Camping World is like an RVer’s candy store but we are watchful to gather our goodies on a budget.

The next stop was for haircuts but the address given online turned out to be a vacant lot. We turned our attention towards JoAnn’s a fabric craft store. We had looked for JoAnn’s Fabric store last week and we’d found an empty field at that time as well. We walked around looking for leather-like material to use as reusable covers on picnic tables and benches. We struck out at finding what we wanted but walked around the store looking at many of the crafts that they catered to including a past hobby that both Kathy and I had been involved with until we sold our home.

Our next stop was at the McDonalds for a lite lunch and the use of their free WiFi. Yes we have our own MiFi but with the limited amount of usage we have each month we have learned the hard way to shut down all automatic updates to our computers until we are either back home in the apartment or we stop where there is free WiFi. It is wise to update your Virus Scans or Spyware at least every other week.

We continued down the road looking for a Bicycle Repair Shop that Kathy had found online yesterday. We needed to replace the handlebars to a higher style so that Kathy won’t be banging her knees. We found the building but another merchant we asked said they had closed and moved out last year. Don’t forget if it’s online it has to be true. Right!

Turning back in the direction of home we found the Edison Mall so we stopped there. Kathy reasoned that most malls have barber shops or stylist’s shops. After walking from one end of the mall to the other we finally found both shops across from one another. Kathy went in one shop and I in the other. Twenty minutes later we both emerged feeling refreshed and not like the wooly sheepdogs we were beginning to feel like.

Walking through the mall back towards the truck we came across a Sears store so Kathy stopped in to look for some summer like clothes. She found a number of nice tops and capris but after trying them on they stayed on the rack because they just didn’t fit properly.

We stopped at Home Depot where I attempted to find Nylon Washers to fix a problem we are having with our flags. After searching the hardware section ourselves the person working the area recommended going to Ace Hardware.

It was now past 6:00 and we had spotted one of our favorite restaurants just down the road so we stopped in for supper at Sweet Tomatoes. They serve probably twenty different types of salad with all kinds of toppings and eight different kinds of soup. We ate our share and didn’t overdo it but when we waddled out we felt stuffed. Doesn’t everyone ask how a cow can weigh so much when they are just vegetarians?

On the way home on the highway we had a little nail biter when a jeep started crossing into our lane going around a bend. Luckily he wasn’t deaf and heard the horns on the truck while I also hit the brakes. He then stayed in his lane for the remainder of our trip.

Tomorrow we’ll be busy again. It’s a good thing we’re retired or we’d never get anything done. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
