Change of Plans.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

After sleeping with the windows open last night we both managed to get a good night’s sleep. The few times that we did wake up only lasted for brief moments until we drifted back to sleep. When we got out of bed this morning the temperature was a bit brisk at only 54 F (12 C) which is on the cool side for our area at this time of year.

Shortly after 9:00 this morning I was on my way to the monthly retirees meeting that I haven’t attended since last December because of our travels. I had an easy trip across town only stopping when I left our parking lot and when I arrived at the hall not having to stop for a single traffic light. Upon parking I was also surprised at the lack of vehicles in the lot. When I went inside I was notified that at the last retirees meeting in June it was voted to suspend the meetings during the two summer months. It wasn’t long before I was back at the apartment except that I had about twenty red lights to contend with along the way.

It has been a while since Kathy and I had been to the movies and since we still had a giftcard from the kids to use and we had nothing else planned this turned out to be the perfect day to go. We headed over to the Devonshire Mall where we used a coupon at the Taco Bell in the food court for our lunch. We enjoyed our meal knowing that it would save great expense in the movie theater snack bar.

The movie we saw was “Into the Storm” which is set around storm-chasers, rednecks and ordinary people. The special effects were fantastic. The plot was nothing compared to what many people have personally experienced in these types of storms. There were times it kept us on the edge of our seats and there were times it made us laugh and cheer. Both Kathy and I gave it a 3 out of 5 for a rating.

Since it was still early when the movie ended we decided to walk around the mall for exercise and it helped to get a few ideas about gifts that we might purchase within the next 133 days to our list. Our walk eventually led us into the Target store where we continued our exploring until Kathy caught sight of their grocery section. Ten minutes later we were heading for the truck to go home with a number of food stocks that we were in need of.

Kathy and I would like to welcome WendyBeale from the blog Wendy’s Trip Log as our latest blog follower. She and her husband are still raising their young family but are getting into the travel and explore mode. Hopefully we’ll be able to pass along some useful information that will help you in your future travels as well as this Shout-out.

I also noted there are a few other new followers that I might have accidentally overlooked this past winter while we were down south. With time I will try to correct that but in the meantime welcome aboard.

The temperature only reached a high of 70 F (21 C) today and tomorrow is supposed to be close to the same so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Dang...too bad someone couldn't have called you and gave you a heads up on the meeting.

  2. A lot of meetings have a tendency to be suspended for the summer months, more this fall.
