Happier Note.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

After a day that left me mentally drained because of bad news to a day that drained both Kathy and I but on a happier note. We were both up before 8:00 this morning and had coffee with Ego Waffles for breakfast. Looking out the balcony door we saw that we had received a bit of the rainfall that was promised and the weather forecast said it would rain fairly constant all day.
With breakfast complete we did our usual morning computer reading before getting ready to go over to Karen and Greg’s. The reason was for us to bring our granddaughter Kylla to the hairdresser’s and for me to document her transformation. She had been asked to escort James to the prom tonight.
Kylla’s friend Kayla came along to keep her company and give her pointers. The first stop was the hairdressers. It was quite the transition from being very casual to a very formal hairstyle. Recalling visits to the beauty salon at preschool age with my mother or even when Kathy and I go for haircuts have never been like the visit that took place today.
The hairdressers at the shop were very comfortable with me sitting off to the side and photographing the changes taking place. They told us of some people hiring professional Videographers to document their daughter’s makeovers. After adding close to a hundred hairpins and a lot of hairspray into Kylla’s hair she looked like a model.
Now we needed to stop at the nail salon at the Tecumseh Mall. The days of simply applying nail polish on a young woman’s finger nails have long fallen to the wayside. First the nails must be perfectly shaped including cleaning back the cuticles. Next the base coat of polish is applied to each finger before the second and final coats are applied. Third the design you have chosen is then painted on top of the now dried polish. Step four you must use a drying unit that warms the polish to ensure it is totally dried before they apply a final clear coating to help prolong the life of the finished works of art.
Once we were back at the house we had lunch that Kathy and I had picked up along the way but Kylla insisted on repaying us. We had to pass some time before James would arrive so the girls decided to run an errand while Kathy and I tried to wear some energy out of Sanford who still being a puppy was in the mood to play.
Please can't we play some more.
With the return of the girls Kylla finally got dressed in her gown. Unfortunately she didn’t like the way it was fitting. Kathy immediately sprang into action and suggested a few adjustments. With the help of a few safety pins all problems with the dress were solved.

After James arrival the picture taking stepped up a bit. Soon friends that were also attending the prom arrived and the pictures turned into group shots. Before long the kids were on their way to a party with their peers that was taking place at 5:00pm with a 5 course meal and dancing afterwards.
By the time Kathy and I got home we were more than happy to have a bowl of Tomato soup and the last of the Strawberry-Rhubarb pie for supper. By the way we still haven't seen that rain yet. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
