Singing a Different Tune.

Our Location today is Bushnell, Florida.

This morning we were surprised to hear the furnace running but it was another cold night just hovering above the freezing mark so it was no wonder. Like yesterday within an hour of the sun rising the temperature had risen into the mid 50’s and this afternoon we were sitting outside in 73F (23C) sunshin.
This morning after breakfast Kathy continued researching parks that she felt we would be comfortable staying at next winter here in Florida. I continued reading all the recent blog posts on our side bar. As I’ve said before if it is on our side bar every time they have made a new blog post entry I read it. I don’t make comments very often unless I feel strongly about a subject or I am able to give mechanical input and I’m not too far behind on reading blogs. This morning was a lazy day morning because we had plans for this afternoon.

After lunch I called Nature Coast RV Center in Crystal River to ask if they had shipped out the parts we had ordered for our trailer. They confirmed that they had been shipped and delivered on March 15th a full week before our arrival here at Breezy Oaks. I then went to the office who again said they had not received my parcel. When I described the size of the package I happened to spot a box under another that fit the description. Mary’s face suddenly turned beet red as she read the name and started to apologize to me. This was the package that I had asked for every day this week.
That’s what happens when more than one person works in a small office and not everyone does the job the same way. When I got back to the trailer I immediately called the RV Center to confirm getting the package and thanking them for their service.

A number of RV Parks in the area set aside one day a week for musical jam sessions through the winter season. These musicians gathered here for the final time this season and had their final get together at Breezy Oaks RV Park in Bushnell this afternoon. The songs were mostly country music with a few gospel songs included for good measure but most brought back many a memory.

There is a covered outdoor stage where all the performers gather playing instruments such as guitars, violins, mandolins, banjos, steel guitars and keyboards. They all had a chance to be center stage with their vocal talents as well. There were even a few vocalists from the campground that came from the audience to add to the talent already on stage.

After a short break everyone returned to the stage to each give one more song. Finally they gave a thank you to many in the audience that have been here all season attending these jams as well as everyone else and hoping to see everyone again next year.

Kathy and I would like to welcome Robbye Howard as our latest blog follower. Unfortunately there is no blogger information to give a shout out for Robbye but if we see a change in his profile we’ll be certain to pass it along.
In response to a comment from Jill yes I know I’m a lucky man to have Kathy taking care of me. She always says a person eats with their eyes first, their sense of smell next and finally the taste. She also thinks you’re very creative in you crafts you make for the holidays.

Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be better than it was today but we’ll be too busy then to be just hanging around to find out. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  1. There are so many parks in FL oh my gosh I can only imagine how you ever decide. We are hosting at Gold Head State Park Jan-March. It is close to Keystone Heights. It doesn't get as hot there as it does deeper into FL, but we don't like really hot weather so it should be perfect for us. The temp all winter ran between 60 and 70...perfect. We had a gorgeous day here today, the sun was warm, ahhhhh Spring :)
