Wisconsin Day Adventures

Our Location Today is Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, U.S.A.
Tuesday night was a learning experience for not only our Friends Bill and Vera but also for Kathy and I because we have never travelled with another couple in our trailer before. It took a bit of time setting up the second bedroom even though Kathy and I had done a dry run to be certain we knew what we were doing. Now we were demonstrating it for our guest so they can help in this travelling day activity as they also want to help us out in our normal chores.
So at breakfast on Wednesday it was not so difficult an adjustment for Kathy and I as we’d had our past experiences taking our two grandsons on past trips with our old trailer. Unfortunately there was no camera available when both Kathy and Bill slowly opened the doors of both bedrooms at the same time as to not wake the other couple making it look like a game of hide and seek.
Shortly after an enjoyable breakfast with lots of joking we were all busy closing up shop in preparation for the five hour drive ahead. It was difficult for myself especially being so used to doing the outside chores by myself but now having another able bodied person to help out. Within minutes Kathy and Vera had finished closing up the inside of the trailer and were busy setting up the cab of the truck for travelling. Moments later Bill and I had destabilized the trailer and packed away the utilities and were ready to roll.

It only took a few minutes to travel the short distance to the highway. We made good time because most normal traffic did not exist because of the July 4th holiday. About 11:00 we pulled into a Pilot fuel station for our first fuel up. I suggested everyone head inside to cool down and stretch their legs while I fueled up.
While I was fueling a gentleman came over to ask information about RV’ing and our choice of trailer over a motorhome. Explaining how our choice suited us at this time and for years to come but nothing says that our choice could not change down the road if we are to continue travelling. By the time I had finished the fueling he had a better understanding of the why’s and how’s of to choose an RV.
The gang arrived back from inside bring out fruit smoothies to help beat the heat. Five minutes later we were back on the highway again for the second time this morning.
Our next stop was at Denny’s for lunch.  We needed to park in a Target parking lot as we patronized their store for some supplies that were forgotten at home. We passed through Illinois & Indiana on this trip heading for Wisconsin.
Our next rest stop was the Welcome Center to Wisconsin. When we got out of the truck to stretch our legs we sensed the heat radiating from the parking lot so I used our heat sensor to check it out like the day before. I photographed the heat of the pavement on the sensor at 142.5 degrees.
Miles down the road we were pulling into the Bonanza RV Park in Wisconsin Dells. The problem was that the heat followed us. First thing connected was the power so the AC could be turned on. By the time we unhooked the truck and finished setting up we were just to worn out to cook supper so we headed out to a nice Air Conditioned restaurant for a wonderful Buffet supper.
Unfortunately the WiFi in the park is very limited to just outside the office so I needed to write this amongst the conversation of excited adults in the trailer and then posting it now. After lunch we’ll be out on another adventure and try to keep you posted along the way. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
