Repairs and Packing Day

Our Location Today is Middlebury, Indiana, U.S.A.

Remember on Saturday when I mentioned how it is a small world. The gentleman that had come to inquire about our trailers length was from Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada. While he and his wife Gayle Cecile were walking their dog last night we found out that she runs the mailroom for the company our daughter-in-law Melissa works for. I also found out they presently live almost across the street from the farm my mother was raised on. Now that is a small world.
After last night's fire in the cool night air it was not hard to get a good night of sleep. We were not in a rush to go anywhere as our travelling companions Gerry and Sandy had left early this morning for an 8:00 am appointment in Goshen about 50 miles away. Their appointment was to get the damages to their trailer from the tree incident repaired. We even took the time to watch a movie this morning before I went outside to re-organize the basement and empty the holding tanks.
The Harley is the Tow Vehicle
The temperature was supposed to stay cool today but if you were working directly out in the sunshine it was surprisingly hot. There were many bottles of water downed during the outdoor work period as I surely didn't want another heat related sickness.
Hybred B Class
Shortly after lunch I had completed all but one of my tasks which was the installation of our Tire Monitoring System. Having not looked at the instruction booklet I somehow managed to press the the wrong button and somehow lost one of my front wheels. That may sound quite funny but I'm glad it's only on the monitor and not in real life. Now I have to read the booklet to clear the monitor and reprogram it again.
Since Kathy and I had done as much as we could for today we headed back into the town of Middlebury. We explored a new ACE hardware store that had just opened this week and actually found a few needed devices we had been unable to find anywhere else we had looked. We also found another few shops that were not in existence the last time we had come to this region.
Tent Trailer
Once back at the camp we started making supper since we had done a fair amount of walking in a short period of time and had built up quite an appetite. We notice a younger man attempting to fly a remote control helicopter only to make several hard landings. While he was doing that his young dog was also thinking this was something to play with and made a number of tries to claim it for himself.
As we were eating we received a phone call from Gerry telling us they would be staying in a motel in Goshen for the night and that he had stopped by the repair shop where their trailer is this afternoon. To his surprise they had already changed out the entire back wall of the trailer and the damaged sidepanel. The only thing left to do was replace the damaged leveling jack, put back in the back window and add side turn signals that Gerry was paying extra for. The supervisor told him it would probably be ready to go by noon tomorrow. Wow that is fast but what else should we have expected from  people who do this for a living all the time.
Early Teardrop Trailer
Kathy and I decided to forgo our campfire this evening as we have a 10:30 appointment in the morning with MorRyde. We definitely don't have to get up as early as the Bronstein's did but earlier than we like. After our modifications are completed we'll be getting back together with Gerry and Sandy for the rest of our trip. We may be staying an extra day as well just to be able to get an early start for home rather than a late one after all the trailer modifications and repairs.  Be Safe and Enjoy!

It's about time.
