More Exploring

Our Location Today, Middlebury, Indiana, U.S.A.

Today as planned we headed back out to Elkhart to be some of the many to walk through the doors of the new store location for the RV Surplus Store on opening day. What we found and what we expected were two different things. What we expected was surplus RV furniture, doors. hardware, plumbing and electrical left behind from a production over-run. What we found was a store that is in the beginning stages of carrying supplies that will add competition to Camping World.
Another Classic Class A Moterhome

Understocked would be an understatement. Most of the bar codes were not yet entered into the computer base until you made a purchase. They claim most of their stock had not yet been moved from the store they closed on Saturday so that could explain much of the empty floorspace and shelves. Prices were comparable to those of most RV supply outlets but at this time there are no real bargains to be had. We did manage to find a few needs that were quickly picked up.

The door panels and hardware we were interested in getting today may be had at an Auction House about ten miles away. That will become another day trip.
We stopped at the Super K-mart to pick up some necessities that were needed in both trailers. From there we stopped at Bob Evans and enjoyed a variety of meals since everyone had different tastes today. Even though we comfortably walked out of the restaurant we headed over to Menard's for additional walking and trailer supplies that were needed.

Since the temperature started dropping at supper time and will be dipping tonight to be a cold tonight we are going to try and warm our spirits and the night-air by enjoying another of the seasons many campfires. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It's about time.

  3. Really like the first pic of the old motorhome. How cool is that! Sorry your shopping trip didn't pan out as expected, but at least you wound up the day with a delightful campfire!

  4. I'm not sure why stores open before they are really ready for business. It always makes me not want to go back.

    Nice campfire.
