Dragging My Anchor.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

It seemed that after the few things I accomplished yesterday, I would sleep soundly and I did. The problem was when I got out of bed this morning, my anchor seemed to be dragging for the rest of the day. The few things I did accomplish, could have easily been done on a Cold Wintry Day.
Kathy is enjoying the fact that she doesn't do any cooking lately. When her family was growing, she was a working mother and yet she made certain all the
Laundry, Vacuuming, Dusting and Cooking was done. Now we eat at the Fast Foods mostly or I have to try my best to make something Healthy, Nutritious and Filling. That could be part of the reason, my pant size has been increasing.

We enjoyed Banana Pancakes for an early breakfast, then we shared a Bacon/Veggie Omelette for a late lunch. It wasn't until nearly 8:00 that we had Macaroni and Cheese for a late supper. Not a single Pizza was consumed today.

Hard to believe another Summer has ended and Labour Day is here again. For those of you in the United Labour Organizations, enjoy your day off while supporting the less fortunate workers.

We watched "The Avengers" this evening for entertainment. Hoping not to be pulling my anchor tomorrow and getting more accomplished.

Trailer Problems.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

There was no problems sleeping last night, as a fact I struggled to keep my eyes open long enough to publish our Blog. Due to my ever-increasing Neck Pain, I had no choice but to start my night in my Recliner. Somehow by tipping back like that allows my Neck to realign itself enough to ease the Pain, something laying in Bed does not allow. Last night the tiredness with the realignment of my Neck, I spent half the night in the Recliner, before going to Bed. It was my Neck Pain that woke me this morning.

It’s that time of month again that I try to use up what food we have in stock, before purchasing more. Breakfast was Yogurt Cups and the last Muffins.

While working at the Computer and seeing the clear blue skies, I started thinking of getting outside chores done, while the weather is decent. Since we were going to collect our Mail at Guardian Storage today, I thought we should check out our Storage Unit as well as the Trailer.

After having a Hotdog Wrap for lunch, we headed out the door. Kathy had brought her Jacket in case it was cold, but with our high of 70 F (21 C) it wasn’t needed.

We collected the Mail before heading in to check on the Trailer for any problems, and problems we found. The first problem was, one of the Amber Clearance Lens that has been on the Trailer since it was parked, was suddenly missing. The second problem was, someone had discarded pieces of Plywood and strips of Boards, tossed under our Trailer. It is amazing how easy it is to pull that out just by using my Cane in reverse.

After checking the inside of the Trailer and not finding any signs of Leakage I went to check the roof. The next problem had nothing to do with the Trailer. Since my Re-Re-Re-Retirement and Hip Surgery, I have not climbed any Ladders and have gained some poundage, so I did not make it to the roof today.

After quick check of our Storage Unit, showed nothing had changed since my Shoulder Injury. As we were leaving, we stopped at the Office, where I reported to Chantel that other customers were using our site as a dumping ground, instead of taking it away. As we were leaving, she was heading out to photograph the litter problem so that it would be cleaned up for us.

Back at the Apartment I gathered some tools and a Plastic Tarp, before heading outside. We haven’t used the Truck lately, so I never installed the new License Sticker. Because I have Protective Lenses on the Plates themselves. I had to lay on the Plastic Tarp, on the ground, to accomplish the task of removing the Lenses, apply the Sticker, then reinstall Lenses. What was not simple, was getting myself back on my feet. Thankfully I had my Cane and the Front Bumper to accomplish the task.

It was nearly 7:00 when we shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Veggie Pizza for supper.

We later watched “Forensic Factor” then “Forensic Files” before calling it a day.

I try not to Plan on doing things, because most of the time it never happens. I’m going to work at getting back to exercising and loosing this extra weight, so we can get back on the road. It’s about time.

Scammers, On-Line Banking and The Call.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

It felt wonderful not having to worry about what time we’d start our day, but we were having breakfast by 8:00. Did you notice that? It seems that when we know that we have appointments, we struggle to get a restful sleep. Without a set goal for the day, we sleep soundly.

Eating only a Muffin and Yogurt Cup for breakfast, we got ahead of the rush at our Computers, checking the News, Weather, Messages and finally Blogs took us until noon.

Strangely, I was receiving phone calls about products that Kathy had researched on the Computer. Then calls from Amazon wanting to clarify my account numbers. We weren’t born yesterday!

We enjoyed Grilled Bacon/Tomato/Cheese Sandwiches for lunch.

I then went On-line to do some Banking. I have done this often enough that when there was no changes happening to our accounts, I knew we were going for a ride.

Before that could happen, I received a call from Alexis at Windsor Essex County Alzheimer Society Center. We talked for over Ten Minutes as she gathered the necessary information. We now have an appointment next month. Of course, Kathy is not happy with this, saying I’m making appointments behind her back. That is the Denial pushing back, but I need help.

Our temperatures hit 69 F (20.4 C) and even the Northeasterly Wind Gusts were only 16 MPH (10 KLM) making it a very comfortable day.

Our destination was the Credit Union, where after explaining the inability to do any On-line Banking the teller checked all our accounts to make certain nothing had been taken. Then, she made the payments while we waited. Part of this On-line stuff is to eliminate the need for In-person appearances, especially when we are far from home.

To finish these payments off, meant also going to the Bank to move Eggs in another basket.

Since it was nearly 5:00, we stopped at Wendy’s to use a Coupon to lower the cost of our supper.

We watched a few episodes of “Forensic Files” before the “11 o’clock Local News”. Today’s forecasted Rain, did not happen, but the Black Clouds brought on darkness early.

We’ll see what we can do tomorrow.

Time and Garlic.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Everybody has a different sleep schedule. When we were in the working world it was early to bed and early to rise. There was only a slight change to that routine when we retired. Surprisingly, when we started living Fulltime in our RV, we start following the Sun. Shortly after it set, we went to bed. When the Sun rose in the morning, we were not far behind in starting our day. Now we choose the length of our days, based on how busy our day has been or will be.

During the Winter season we tried extending the length of our days by using artificial light and wishing for warmer days. When Spring came along, we were overjoyed at the Sunshine and longer days. When Summer got too hot to handle, many of us just hunkered down in the Air Conditioning and wished for cooler days. When Fall soon makes its appearance, it will thrill us with vivid colours, before everything turns brown with shorter days and a sadness as we wait for Spring to reappear.

We slept in this morning until 8:20, knowing we had things to do, but they were all in the confines of the building. We didn’t mind this decision because the Weather Guessers were all showing lots of Rain in our area, and we are not into getting wet.

While getting things ready, the Fire Alarms in the building went off. Luckily, we have Noise Reducing Headphones to help save our hearing. The problem was, there were Two Apartments being renovated by Contractors on the same Floor. Nobody thought to open the Balcony Doors to exhaust the Dust, so the Sensors thought it was Smoke.

Soon enough, we were down in the Second Floor Laundry Room. There were a lot of new Tenants there to use the machines for the first time. Once we had everything in the Dryers, we returned to the Apartment to share a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Pizza for lunch. Everything was washed, dried, folded and put away by 2:00 and the Sun was still shining.

When it came to cooking supper tonight, I did things slightly different with big results. Since I had a problem using Minced Garlic in a Stir Fry a while back, today I used Garlic Cloves. After chopping it fine then adding it to the mix, it was double of what I normally use. We still enjoyed our Bacon/Veggie Wraps for supper.

After cleaning up, I noticed a couple of large Puddles in the parking lots. I was too busy, making supper to notice.

After watching a few episodes of “The Rookie”, we also watched the “11 o’clock Local News”. It now looks like we’ll have more Rain tomorrow.

Getting ready to publish this Blog, the Apartment has a distinct aroma of Garlic.

We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

154th and Savings.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

I made the mistake of setting the Alarm, before going to bed last night. Even though I thought that I slept well, because I woke before it went off, I seemed to be dragging the rest of the day.

Having Muffin with a Yogurt Cup for our snack breakfast seemed to hold our appetites until lunch. Before heading out the door, I even had time to do my On-Line Questionnaire and take a picture of the Q-Pass.

It was 52 F (11 C) this morning, the same as yesterday, when we walked out the door. Taking the Parkway to the Expressway soon had us sitting in the Howard Avenue parking lot, less than a Thousand Feet from our ramp. Having Four Lanes of traffic funnelled to One was not bringing out the best in people.

Kathy decided to sit in the Car to read, while I went into the Canadian Blood Services building. I was taken in immediately, but the Scanner would not read the Q-Pass from my phone. Rita just did it the old fashioned way by orally asking me the same questions I had already done on my Computer. Eventually I was making my 154th Blood/Plasma Donation. When I got back out to the Car, Kathy said she had spoken to our daughter Karen and son Kevin, about the Girls and Cats visiting us the other day.

We stopped at Guardian Storage to find our Mailbox stuffed. Again there were sales brochures that should have been delivered Two Weeks ago. On a positive note, there were a couple of Fast Food Coupons that we could make use of. It was already past noon, so we stopped at Wendy’s to use one of those Coupons for lunch.

We only got a block away, when I remembered that we had other Coupons that we needed to use today. We use Coupons to keep our spending down. We also take advantage of patronizing stores that have Senior’s Discount Days and that was where we headed. We headed back to the Bulk Barn to splurge on our favourite Healthy Snack. Since they only allow you to use one Coupon at a time, Kathy used one with half the purchase, then I did the same. Our savings from regular price using the Coupons and Senior’s Discount was $24.65.

Back at the Apartment, we both had a Snap to get rid of the tired feeling.

The “11 o’clock Local News” is showing that it could be a very wet day tomorrow, but I know what we can do.
