Out Running Errands, Checking Out New Vendors, More New Neighbours, Exercising The Generator and Feeling An Earthquake.

Our Location today is La Posa South L.T.V.A., Quartzsite, Arizona, U.S.A.

We were both up by 8:00 MST this morning thinking that the other had slept in. It wasn’t until we were talking while having breakfast that we both expressed spending time in our Recliners before being able to go back to bed to sleep. Even with the continued Cloud Covered Sky we planned on getting out later this afternoon.
8:19 MST

Having our Coffees while reading on our Computers seemed to add to the Congestion so our second cup once again turned out to be the Lemon Ginger Tea that helped to ease some of the pressure. With this being the first day of the week we added the Pharmacy as a place to stop at this afternoon.
9:41 MST
Once my indoor chores were finished I headed outside to check our Propane usage. Even though the one Tank was not empty it was getting down so I switched it out with our reserve Tank. I also topped off the Gasoline in the Honda Generator after having used it last evening.
10:53 MST
By the time I got back inside Kathy was in the process of starting lunch. Trying to keep it lite she made Baked Beans on Toast and we each had a Yogurt Cup for our dessert.

By 12:30 we were headed out and our first stop was at the Trash Bins to get rid of our waste.
A happy family is walking around.
Finally on our way to Quartzsite our next stop was the In-Town Pharmacy that shares a very tight parking lot with a Reality Company. After having read Karen Pfundtner’s blog RVing: The USA Is Our Big Backyard the other day about using “Mucinex D” to clear up a severe Congestion Problem she was having that’s what I went in this drugstore looking for. Kathy who has a Poor Immune System stayed in the Truck to protect herself from any other germs someone had left behind. Not seeing much on the shelf, I asked the Pharmacist what they had available and he recommended a Generic to Mucinex. Being we were getting desperate for relief I made the purchase.
Parrot patiently waiting as his owner is talking outside the Post Office.
That dog is keeping an eye on that bird.
Outside in the Truck Kathy was very excited to have taken pictures of someone’s pet Parrot that they were walking around with here in Quartzsite, Arizona. These people were definitely RVers and the Parrot easily went between the two when the other needed to go somewhere inside.

Our third stop was Herb’s Hardware where I picked up some Gas Stabilizer and Oil for our Generator. By the time I got back to the Truck Kathy had already read the medical information on the Pills and had gotten us each a pill to take ready. No use getting Pills if you are not going to use them.

Going further up the road we went to RV Pitstop to refill our nearly empty Propane Tank. We just arrived in time and there was suddenly a line-up out to the road.
Artist at work.
Back in town we stopped at the Chevron gas station where I not only topped up the truck with Diesel but refilled our empty Jerry-Can with Gasoline for the Generator.

We final headed over to Tyson Wells Road where we planned to look around the Vendors that had recently arrived. We figured we both needed lots of walking to make up for the days of inactivity we had recently experienced and we also figured since there was a slight breeze that was blowing there was less chance of us passing our germs to someone else as well as less chance of us getting something from them. We saw and spoke to a lot of the Vendors that we had patronized last winter. After walking around for over two hours we even managed to help out a couple of bottom lines even after Kathy bargained a 27% Discount on one article.

It was past 4:00 and being hungry before heading Home we stopped at Carl’s Jr where we shared one of their $5.00 Meal Boxes. Kathy even had some entertainment out the front window when the Quartzsite PD pulled a Newer Mustang over and searched the entire vehicle. Most would say it was Profiling but out here it is just an Officer of the Law doing his job.

When we got Home our neighbour Wayne was outside and headed over to talk. Of the two couples he is the only one who has not come down with the “Crud”. He had gone to town today to get Antibiotics for his wife Sue because her condition had worsened. He also pointed out that there were Three other RVs that had moved in less than a hundred feet from the other side of his trailer. We stayed outside in order to protect him from our germs. We actually saw some patches of Blue Sky even though the Clouds thickened before the Sun set.

Once we were inside our trailer a quick check of our charging system showed Today’s Clouds had hampered our Solar Panels from charging our Batteries. Outside I added Gasoline Stabilizer to the Generator and turned it on. Within a few minutes it seemed to be running much smoother then last evening. Going inside I bypassed our EMS and turned on our Converter. Kathy had our second dose of pills waiting on the table to fight this Congestion.

Having listened to many of our neighbours running their generators quite often because they don’t have Solar it didn’t bother me to leave our’s run for a while. By doing so we charged our Batteries and Electronics and Kathy used it for the Electric Hot Water Heater and when that happened the Generator was purring like a kitten because of the heavy load.

Before we go to bed tonight we will take a third dose of those pills and hopefully to wake up Clear Headed in the morning.

We’ve just felt our first real Earthquake and Aftershocks that happened in Borrego Springs California not too far away. Glad our Home is on Wheels! Thanks for following along, feel free to leave a comment and click on the pictures to enlarge them. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  2. With all those interesting vendors and stores in 'Quartzsite you talk about down there it really makes us envious. Wish we would be there right now. I think Benno would be spending all day and every day looking at tools and gadgets and I would find lots of things for my interests. Meanwhile we are stuck in the snow. :-( Enjoy your stay!

  3. I have friends of a friend who carry their parrots around in their rig. They had cages built in the back just for them. Be careful though ... some exotic birds are carriers of diseases humans can get, and vice versa. That's why I don't take Jonathan outside. I'm glad you guys are on the mend. Nothing worse than getting sick.

  4. Hope you and Kathy are feeling better. Sounds like the show is beginning in Quartzsite.

Those pictures of sun and clouds look pretty. We're expecting showers this afternoon here. Doubt if they do though.

Those Honda generators run so quietly no one can hear them at a distance.

  5. Those generators really need regular exercise. I was told one hour a month under full load and try to keep that schedule. We are parked at home this winter and every month I run it for an hour with both the air conditioning and the 1500 watt electric heater on. That pretty much maxes it out. Those darn colds/crud is everywhere! We both spent Christmas week just laying around trying to shake it. Enjoy your winter!

  6. Don't they have Walgreen's there or Walmart for cheaper RX. Hope the generic works for you.
