A Day to Remember

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

We had a slightly better night’s sleep but Kathy is still having a lot of discomfort in her shoulder and lots of aches and pain from a suspected flu bug she probably got at her doctor’s office. Throughout the day she has had her ups and downs but hopefully there will be less downs in the next few days and there will only be improvement after this. She will be returning to her doctor on Tuesday for the results of her test.

After lunch our daughter Karen called to ask if I would be able to help her put up her Christmas lights this afternoon. The weather was the warmest we have seen in a while with bright sunshine but with the constant breezes it felt slightly cooler so it was perfect for doing it. With only 43 days until Christmas it was the perfect time to do it.

It took only a short while for us to get the bins from the garage attic. The way we had put them away in January it took less than an hour to have everything up. Ten minutes later the empty bins were back in the attic, the timers set and the ladders put away. We were then invited to enjoy supper and continue with our Sunday night visit.

Today is a very special day in Canada and the United States. It is Remembrance Day in which we honor those individuals that have served in our country’s armed forces. Many of those people gave their lives fighting for what they felt was right. Many others who were fortunate to make it back home to their families are left to live with the horrors they endured through the battles. If it was not for these brave individuals many of us would not have the freedom and liberties we do today. If you know anyone who is a veteran please thank them for their contributions they made on all our behalf’s.

When we got home we had a couple of phone messages. First my aunt Anna called telling me of problems my uncle Bob was having and setting a date to visit for the holidays when they’d be in town. Second our son Gary called saying he’d been released from hospital but still had more tests to have and more doctor’s appointments all before the Christmas holidays.
