With it being more of a typical Spring Day for this area yesterday it was very disappointing when we woke up this morning to the near Winter Temperatures that we had experienced in Quartzsite this past January. Listening to the falling Rain was like we’d taken a sedative before going to bed. Feeling the cold air on my face this morning I lay in bed a while longer then needed just to keep warm. The first thing I did when I went downstairs was to turn on both the Electric Fireplace and Blue Flame Heater to take the chill out of the air.

It was only a short while later that Kathy joined me downstairs and started wishing the Rain to go away as the Puddles started to completely cover the Streets throughout the Transient Area that we are presently staying in. With not too much planned because of the Weather and the fact that it was Good Friday we got caught up on more then just our normal Computer reading. We even made it a Two Cup morning enjoying the warmth from our heaters.

When it came time for lunch we again kept it Lite and only had a bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup. We did a little indoor cleaning and organizing but with the Rain continuing until the later part of the afternoon we started doing some research. We also made a call to see about stopping in for a visit this evening.

Having both grown up with a tradition most of our lives around 4:30 we headed over to the Michigan Diner in Essex where we had Fish and Onion Rings off the Senior’s Menu for supper. We’d had only a Five Minute wait while tables were being cleaned off. Our Waitress was surprised that we were able to give our entire order without opening the Menu. We watched others who were there before us wait until their beverages were brought out to order. We enjoyed our meals and were leaving by the time their food was being brought out. There is a Banquet Room at this location and it was full as well as the main Dining Room with all the Wait Staff practically running around and helping one another to make large deliveries.

We made a quick stop at the Essex Shoppers Drug Mart to purchase some Kleenex after Kathy today had noticed we were running low. Other then local Eateries it was the only store that was open today in Essex.

From there we headed over to visit with our daughter-in-law Jen and grandson Haigan since we have not seen them before we headed south for the Winter. Both Emma and Connor were away so we’ll have to see them the next time. We had an enjoyable visit getting caught up on how school is going and other things. When told of our Campfire Visitor in Quartzsite slithering past us Jen nearly jumped out of her chair because she doesn’t like Snakes either. Soon enough it was time for us to leave but we’ll be seeing them again soon.
The high temperature was only 43 F (6 C) today but with the Wind it felt much cooler. Now that we are Home the temperature is once again dropping and the Wind is rattling our Slide Toppers. We are looking forward to temps in the Mid-Fifties for the weekend. Thank you for following along and feel free to leave a comment.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

Witty Words of Wisdom

How long is a minute depends on what side of the bathroom door you're on.

  2. A very wet day indeed. We don't go out much so when we do I like to take my time, order my beverage and then order my meal. I don't like to be rushed. But you two do go out a lot so I guess you just want to get in, eat and move on. We all have different habits. Hopefully you will have much better weather for the rest of the weekend.

  3. It is a shame it is still cold and raining in your new location. Is this common for your area?

At least you got to visit with family and enjoy a good meal with no wait.
