Our Location today is McGregor, Ontario,
Canada.
Neither of us needed any type of
sleeping aid last night but with the unseasonably warm temperatures we’ve had
for the last few days and the open windows at night it could be considered the
same thing. The problem with nature helping you have comfort through the night
is that it makes certain you don’t start your day too early. It was after 8:30
when we both jumped out of bed to go for breakfast and discuss today’s agenda.
We spent very little time on the computers
before actively doing our morning chores. Kathy still needed to do more
research on our revised southern trip. My goal was to finish cutting some metal
components at our son Kevin’s home in Amherstburg today.
By the time I headed out the door it was
past 10:00. The ride on the truck felt a lot stiffer with the front tires properly
inflated as well as the ten pounds of air in the new Airbags. From past experience the Airbags do not add load capacity but helps to smooth the rougher
road surfaces which makes traveling much easier.

By the time I had talked with Kevin it was
past 10:30 when I finally started working on my projects. When making things
using new materials it normally takes less time than when recycling past
projects. The advantage of reusing some of those past projects (especially when
you are retired) is the cost is less and you have the time to work on them.
Today I cut the new lighter materials that will be used to redesign the
recycled bicycle rack I’ll make for the rear of our trailer. I also managed to
make a further adjustment to one of the battery racks we’ll be reusing.

It was after 2:00 when everything was
packed away and I was on my way Home. Having just talked to Kathy
on the phone it was determined neither of us had eaten lunch so there was a quick
stop at McDonalds where a couple of junior cheeseburgers
would help us until supper.

Kathy moved her research paperwork from
the table so that we had somewhere to eat. Afterwards she continued her task
while I went outside to empty the trailer’s waste tanks and then to file clean the
materials that were cut today. I started laying parts out behind the trailer when
I noticed a problem in the design. In order to clear the roof-ladder the design
will have to be shaved. Back to the cutting room!

We enjoyed supper while listening to the
6 o’clock News. The weather forecast will be cooler than today’s 81 F (27 C) but still welcoming. We’ll be praying for all those in the
line of Hurricane Matthew that is being followed by Hurricane Nicole. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe

You are one busy guy! I have friends in Hilton Head SC. He had his wife and kids drive to Atlanta where she is from and he had two more windows to board up and then was going to be on his way. I offered my house, but they are staying with family. Crossing my fingers that there home is not damaged. The main thing is that they are safe. - Nancy
