Down Time.

Our Location today is Crystal River, Florida.

After such an Absolutely Wonderful Day swimming with the Manatees yesterday, even after warm soup for supper and hot showers we were still feeling chilled this morning. The one thing we had no problem with last night was sleeping. With all the fresh air we were exposed to and the sheer delight of interactions with the Gentle Giants of the sea just left us totally exhausted and at peace for the night.
When I got out of bed at 7:15 this morning the temperature was already 43F (6C) meaning it was already warmer then the high yesterday. After spending the morning reading and doing research on the computers we thought about having our larger meal at lunch so I had to go set up the barbecue. I grilled up a couple of nice Ham Steaks while Kathy made two wonderful Omelets to go with them. It was like going to a diner but better because it was more private and it gave us time to make plans.
We were still feeling tired from yesterday’s cold weather and decided to relax the rest of today but we’d try kayaking around the Crystal River area tomorrow. After lunch I went outside to dig out our Sea-Eagle inflatable Kayak from the basement and put it in the truck. Since moving into the apartment anything that we need to bring in the trailer stays in the trailer and it only fits in one way.
Kathy’s shoulders were bothering her again this afternoon but upon my encouragement came outside to sit in the 63F (17C) weather where she felt some relief. There was no breeze and beautiful sunshine breaking through the trees felt warming and comfortable. We had a chance to enjoy the sounds of nature around us and being we are so far away from any highways nature is all you can hear.
A young family just pulled in with this retro fitted trailer.
We managed to catch sight of a number of different birds but were only successful at getting pictures of a Woodpecker that I have tried so hard to photograph in the past and of course the squirrels.
For supper we kept it light and only had a bowl of soup topped off with banana bread for dessert.
As Judy Bell would say The End!
Hopefully we see the 70+F (21+C) temperatures predicted here tomorrow and get another chance to enjoy time with the Manatees. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.

  2. Keep an eye on those squirrels. Last summer we had some find their way though the smallest spots under our 5th. They were nesting in there and made a hell of a mess. Ate some wires, deposited a ton of pine cones and squirrel poop. We had to tear out all the insulation from the belly of the trailer and spent a ton of money on repairs. They are not so cute anymore.

  3. We love days like you had. Have you used your inflatable kayak much? We bought an Innova Inflatable kayak we got last fall at L.L. Bean. We haven't used it yet.

Always glad to see young couples RVing.
