Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.
With the Winter Solstice arriving yesterday it was like
something almost animalistic was triggered inside of us. We both slept so
soundly as well as sleeping late this morning it was almost as if we had hibernated
through the night. When we finally got up for breakfast there were plenty of
clouds filling the sky without any sign of the sun. Our plan was to accomplish
anything we could in preparation to our Fulltiming adventure next spring.
After finishing our morning reading I headed downstairs to
collect a package that was delivered there for us yesterday while we ran all
our errands. By the time we’d gotten home last evening the office had closed
for the day. Dan the manager was happy to have been able to help us out. As
soon as I’d returned and opened the package Kathy added the contents to a
special gift that she was assembling and then finished wrapping it up.
Back in our office Kathy started going through our files
filling the recycle bin full of material full of personal information that I would
later shred. I returned to working on our Contact
Cards making certain that they’ll print properly on the cards. By the time I
printed the face side of the cards Kathy had already started heating the last
of the Homemade Ham and Pea Soup for
lunch.
While sitting enjoying our lunch we wanted to watch the Weather
Network on cable
television but the remote wouldn’t change the channels. Thinking it was the
batteries once we’d finished eating I tried changing them out with no luck. Since
we have two television sets in the apartment I tried the second remote again with
no luck. The other television control box worked fine with either remote so I knew
what the problem was. Just then Kathy informed me that our cable wireless
connection had just disconnected her computer again.
On the phone with Cogeco Cable Company they were able to fix our modem by
adjusting the frequency it works on right from their office. With Christmas
being this Friday if they shipped a new television control box it would not
arrive until next week. The only other option was to go to the Devonshire
Mall and exchange the
controller at the Cogeco outlet. With this being only three days before Christmas I’m sure you can imagine the
bumper-to-bumper traffic, impossible to find parking spots and elbow-to-elbow
people. That is why we do our Christmas shopping so early to avoid these madhouse
crowds.
Back at the apartment it only took seconds to connect the cable
control box and everything is working like it’s supposed to. I cleaned and
sliced the Celery Root and helped Kathy cook it as part of our supper and some
leftovers. I managed to print the second side of our Contact Cards and shredding the recycled files getting us a little
closer to our Fulltiming adventure. Thanks for following along
and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
