Chores, More Prepping For Fulltiming And An Early Christmas Visit.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Even after having two cups of Sleepy Time Tea before going to bed last night both Kathy and I ended up playing on the computers before 3:00 this morning. Maybe it’s the extra few minutes of sleep we get in the morning to make up for what sleep we didn’t get through the night that is keeping us awake the following night. Sounds like a dog chasing his tail but it is really starting to wear thin on us.
On this trip the skies were only cloudy.
At home today it rained all day.
After breakfast we quickly finished our morning reading before we buckled down to our chores. Kathy was working on wrapping birthday presents that will be given before and after the holidays. I sorted and prepped the laundry before going down to the laundry room. Imagine my surprise when I found out that the cost of doing our laundry had been increased as of this morning.
These pictures of the road give us a bad case of Hitch-itch.
Once I’d started the wash I returned to the apartment where Kathy and I had a talk. We had planned on storing the couch from the main room in the trailer and replacing it with one of our reclining loveseats from the apartment so if and when we were to watch a movie we could do it in comfort. That same loveseat would then be brought into an apartment when the time came for us to come off the road. I suggested looking at a slightly different style seat since our present ones are already ten years old.

While I switched the laundry to the dryers Kathy put the finishing touches to her Homemade Ham and Pea Soup. As soon as I returned Kathy was ready to serve this tasty meal in a bowl while it was still piping hot. The best part is there is enough for another meal. We further discussed replacing our loveseat as we ate and though seriously about looking into what is available in our area.

After folding the laundry downstairs and checking if the mail had arrived I returned to the apartment where Kathy had been busy. She had been researching local furniture stores online and checking the types of loveseats they have in stock. She found a perfect style seat that would fill all our needs for the time in the trailer and after.
Wishing we were someplace nice and warm at this time.
By 2:00 we were on our way to the Guardian Storage where armed with a tape measure I measured the existing sleeper couch in our trailer. Our next stop was the Wholesale Grocery Outlet where we picked up a number of supplies such as cough drops, breathe mints and sugarless gum cheaper than what we’d pay at a Dollar Store the only thing is you are buying them in bulk.

Now we stopped at Tepperman’s furniture store where Kathy had seen loveseats on their website that were very close to what we wanted. She also researched other local outlets and none of them came close. We spent nearly an hour looking at all their stock and finally agreed on a good looking dual-reclining loveseat with a center counsel/drink-holder. It is only three inches longer than the existing couch, has removable backs which will make it easier to get into the trailer and only needs three inches from the wall for a full recline. They are presently out of stock but a fresh shipment is due in on January 5th which is perfect for us.

Our next stop was the Credit Union where we did some preholiday banking. It was then past 5:00 so we used a coupon and had supper at Arby’s at a reduced price. Before leaving the parking lot we made other stops at the Dollar Store and the Bulk Barn for holiday supplies.
Our Charlie Brown Christmas Tree will be traveling with us.
Final we made our way to Kathie and Ross’s apartment so we could have a pre-holiday visit with them and to drop off a Christmas gift. Their grandson Liam has known Kathy and I as his aunt and uncle since he can remember. We’ve celebrated many birthdays, special occasions and Christmases acknowledging Liam as a special person in our lives. Today we were able to give him his Christmas gifts that he really appreciated and acknowledged with a good solid hug and Thank You.
This pile of Christmas gifts is already shrinking.
After a quick stop at Zehr’s grocery store for milk we finally made it back to the apartment just after 8:00 this evening. Hopefully we’ll have more time to ourselves tomorrow. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
