Watching The Witches and Wizards.

Before I even wrote last night's Blog, Kathy and I hatched a Plan. The next thing to do, would be to make it work. The first thing was for her to get to Bed before I did, because she has always needed more sleep than anybody. When she was only a child her Family Doctor had told her mother it was because of Kathy's heart condition. Though they were not sure how bad it was back then, the one thing that even her Cardiologist today agrees with is, the more sleep she gets, the better her health will be.

I managed to sleep soundly for most of the night, but with that Plan in the back of my mind, I was awake by 7:00. I had already gotten things ready for our breakfast snack before starting to sort Laundry. I had barely done that when Kathy herself joined me, while carrying the Bedding. It all had to be washed.

There was only enough time to finish my morning Coffee and call the Pharmacy to renew a prescription that I had forgotten to get earlier this week.

I was packed up and heading downstairs to the Second Floor Laundry Room shortly after 9:00. Was I ever shocked when I walked in, to find that I was the only one there. Normally there is always someone else ahead of me. That meant I would start and finish this chore sooner.

Between the first and second loads we took the time to share a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Veggie Pizza. I must be feeling slightly better, because I kick mine up a notch with a few shakes of Red Chili Pepper Flakes.

By the time I had eaten, it was also time to head back. Kathy said she would see me in a few minutes. While I was folding our clean clothes, I had the chance to coach a new tenant to the building, how to use the laundry equipment.

After folding everything and heading back to the Apartment, I startled Kathy whose eyes had unexpectedly closed on her. To give my back a rest we sat together talking, before we worked together putting all the clothes away in the dressers.

Even though this was a special night, we had to brave going out. With the blowing Wind making it difficult to walk, I picked Kathy up with the Car a the rear entrance.

We arrived at Health First Pharmacy close to 4:00 to find the Prescription ready to go.

I didn't feel like cooking supper, so asked Kathy what she wanted only to be told "Something Different". Being careful to avoid any Trick or Treaters that were already going door to door, we headed over to the Michigan Diner. It has been months since we were last there, so we took advantage of the Seniors Menu to order more portion appropriate Halibut Fish with Sweet Potato Fries for supper. The bill reminded me of why it had been so long.

We were able to look out over the neighbouring homes to see hordes of little ones with parents in tow going from house to house. We've been on both ends of the tradition. When Kathy and I owned our house on the corner of Foster and Hansen, kids could see our display from Four Directions. The last year there we had Five Hundred Trick or Treaters.

It was only fitting that we watched the final episode of "Harry Potter" on the night where little witches and wizards were running all around the neighbourhood below.

Getting It In Writing.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

After only spending minutes in my Recliner, I managed to spend the rest of the night, sleeping in Bed. When I woke around 8:30 this morning, the discomfort from yesterday's injections had totally disappeared.

Unfortunately, after opening the Balcony Blinds and later the one in the Bedroom, it was necessary to turn on the Lights to brighten things up. What woke Kathy up, was the sound of Dishes being moved, while I got things ready for our breakfast snack. With other things to do, we only spent enough time on the Computers, to finish our Coffees. While doing that, we got a call asking if we could move our Afternoon Appointment up by Thirty Minutes. Done!

For the last few weeks I've been trying to get something accomplished, but one excuse after another, always got in the way. This morning we sat across the table from one another, filling in our Passport Renewal Forms that we picked up a couple of months ago. Our Fifteen Minute task only took an Hour, but we were certain we were ready.

Not wanting another excuse to pop up, we headed to Wendy's for a quick, tasty lunch. Paula was surprised to see us, but we reminded her that she had said she would see us today. She just laughed with a big smile on her face.

When it was time to head across town, we had forgotten about the Construction Gridlock just up the road. After traveling only a Hundred Feet in Five Minutes, we cut through the Walmart parking lot back to the Parkway. Five minutes later we were headed for City Hall Square.

There is a problem when you don't go through the heart of the City very often. The last time we were there was for our niece's wedding that I photographed. City Hall has been replaced and the entire area looks different. We drove around the area Four Times looking for 400 City Hall Square, with no luck. Asking a City Worker cutting the grass, (Yes, it is still growing here) he laughingly said it was inside 400 City Hall Road. Who knew?

After freezing to pay for parking we finally found the entrance. Then being directed by Security, we found Suite 103, better known in Windsor as Service Canada. With all our paperwork in hand we were shown Twice that we had not filled in some of the boxes and we had to step aside, correct it and get back in line. Things like you show when you Retired but are you still? Oh, you forgot to put Today's Date. You only have Two References and you need Three. When I raised my voice, because of Back Pain, saying it was a Renewal and not a New Application, we were told it was good. Not so fast, we still had to wait Fifteen Minutes, before being called in for processing. Luckily, we won't be needing them this Winter, but we should have them by the end of next month. We hated to leave the warmth of the building, but we had things to do.

On our way to our appointment, we stopped at Vital-Aire to check on Strap Covers for Kathy's CPAP Mask. A lot of people don't realize, that they can be allergic to Silicone on their faces. We first learned of that when my face was on the verge of Bleeding due to contact with the Silicone Pillow of my CPAP Mask. Since it has been Five Months when they were ordered, they got a set off the Display and reordered more for Kathy.

By the time we reached the Bank, it was startting to Drizzle for the first time today. Since Mark (Our Financial Advisor) works different locations throughout the City, we waited Twenty Minutes before heading inside. We barely go out of our Car when he arrived. Two Minutes later we were in a private office discussing our finaces. PreCovid we had unexpected expenses on both the Truck and our Trailer ( our Home). When we had to find an Apartment, that cut deeper into our Savings. Today, Mark showed how far our recovery has come and with a few more changes, hopes to see us back on the road, sooner than later. But, he gave me some Homework to do before our next get together. I thought those days were over.

We stopped at the Pioneer gas station to top off the Car with Gasoline at this week's lowest price. Good thing, because Oil went up in price today.

Next we stopped at the Credit Union to take care of our Monthly Payments.

Since it was already 5:00, we walked next door to Taco Bell, to try their new Crispy Chicken Menu. It was tasty and filling, but according to my ankles, there was more Salt than I should have eaten.

After dropping Kathy at the front entrance to our building because it was Raining, then parking the Car, I walked in just as the "6 o'clock Local News" was starting. Though we are having warmer than normal temperatures, there is some Sxxw in the forecast, for the upper part of the Province.

We later watched "Law and Order" before calling it a night.

We'll be busy again tomorrow.

That’s Not Supposed To Happen.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

I should have known better than to mention having a good night's sleep Monday night. Less than an Hour after publishing last night's Blog, I was struggling to make myself fall to sleep. Toss and turn became a regular routine for the night, so when my Back and Shoulder became too Painful, I simply started my day by 7:00. That would have been my sleeping in time years ago, but since Kathy needs more sleep and I've Re-Re-Re-Retired, I realize I can sleep later in the morning and make up for it at the end of the day.

I had finished my morning reading, when I disturbed Kathy by peeling back the Bedcovers, exposing her to the bright Sunlight coming through the Window Blind. Our breakfast snack gave us time to have our morning Medication and Vitamins, before we both took our Coffees to the Computers.

What I could not accomplish overnight, seemed to be trying to bring me down this morning. That was enough to make us leave earlier than anticipated to head to Wendy's for lunch. Paula was again happy to see us, she makes everyone feel like family.

Unfortunately, we had to rush our lunch a bit, because I had an appointment. If you recall I visited the Windsor Pain Care Clinic a couple weeks back where I was turned into a Human Pin Cushion. Today, was to be the first of a series of follow-ups. Waiting Fifteen Minutes in the Waiting Room felt like Hours and Kathy had to keep nudging me to stay awake. Eventually I was moved to a Treatment Room, where I continued to nap, while Kathy was still in the outer room.

We discussed my Pain Levels, how the Injections had worked and how the Medications that I am taking at home are affecting me. My biggest complaint today was the return of my Right Shoulder Pain. This time I only received half the Injections and my Right Shoulder seemed pain-free when I left. The problem was that my Left Shoulder, that had been pain-free when I walked in, was more Painful than the Right one had been. I've got more appointments made and hopefully they'll turn out more positive than today's did.

Back at the Car, I was surprised at the time, because I didn't think this procedure would take so long. Leaving the parking lot, we had only Twelve Minutes to get to our next appointment.

When we walked into Fantastic Sam's with Seven Minutes to spare, we were surprised to see Julia walking in at the same time. While she took care of Kathy, I continued struggling to stay awake. Forty Minutes later we were both looking better and ready for more adventures.

Kathy had gotten a call saying my Medications were ready for pick up, but when we arrived at Health First Pharmacy, they said they had received the dosage changes to my present Prescription and would be ready when I needed them. "They did not need to call me for that reason".

That caused me to lose track of what else I Planned on doing and Kathy was starting to feel hungry, so we stopped at Tim Horton's to try their new Chicken Wraps for supper. They were quite tasty and filling.

While we were eating Kathy noticed someone she didn't recognize, looking at me with a smile on his face and shaking his head yes. It was Khalid, who I have not seen since I left Windsor Feedscrew. After being introduced, he was telling Kathy how I would fix the Machines and told Mile how to fix the Weld Problems to no avail, because he never listens to anyone's advice. He hopes I feel better soon and start enjoying life.

When we got home, I realized that I had forgotten to bring Coupons with us earlier that had to be used today. We put our Jackets back on and headed to the Bulk Barn. What we were there to purchase was "On Sale" so the Coupons were useless, but we still saved 70%. That tells you how much markup there is on most products today.

We managed to watch the "6 o'clock Local News" and a few episodes of "Mayday" for entertainment before calling it a day. I'm using toothpicks to finish the Blog tonight.
