Making Another Push, Someone Tried To Take Our License Plate, GPS To The Rescue and Then It Messes Up.

Our Location today is Amarillo, Texas, U.S.A.

After getting to bed early last night in the RV Parking Area at the Flying J on the west side of Tulsa, Oklahoma we found ourselves getting up early this morning. We’ve become so used to the noises of RVs and Semis moving around us while we sleep that we no longer hear them. This morning we chose to order our breakfast from the 55+ Menu at the Denny’s restaurant, meaning that the portions were slightly smaller than the normal menu offers. We again had our Travel Mugs filled with Coffee just by having our breakfast there.
Not much room at this Flying J.
When I double checked our Purchase Ticket I found that it didn’t belong to us and would have cost more then what we ordered. By the time Angie our Waitress could find our Ticket the other family was already gone. All she could do was rewrite their Ticket at a discount which ended up costing us less then our original Ticket would have been in the first place. Since we had fueled up minutes before arriving at the Flying J last night we didn’t have that to worry about that and were back on I-44 westbound before 9:00.
Fog trying to lift.after 9:00.
It was nearly noon when we were approaching Oklahoma City so we decided to stop for Fuel and Lunch before we got into the Big City. We stopped at Callmet, Oklahoma where we topped our tank with Shell Diesel for Twenty Cents per Gallon cheaper then the Pilot/Flying J chain was selling it for. We also decided to have lunch at their Restaurant which was run entirely with Native American Staff. The food was served warm, quickly and the price was reasonable.
Leaving Tulsa.
When we parked the truck before going in the Restaurant we noticed the License Plate Bracket on the Bicycle Carrier was loose to the point that it was nearly ready to fall off. Someone had tampered with it. After we finished eating Kathy took her time looking around the Trading Post while I went to refasten our License Plate. I always carry a small variety of Bolts, Nuts, Washers and Electrical Fittings in Organizers in the Truck. I found different Fasteners than what had came with Trailer Lights originally and know that we won’t be accidentally losing our License Plate. Just as I finished putting my tools away when Kathy appeared saying there was a lot of nice things at the Trading Post but they were Priced High
With our Tandem Bike and Barrels Secure
our License Plate is now Solid.
As we were driving through Oklahoma City trying to connect to I-40 the weekend drivers kept on cutting us off rather then allowing us to get to the ramp we needed. We had to take the next ramp but couldn’t get back to where we needed so we had to do something we didn’t want to do, we had to turn on our GPS. There have been many times in the past that it has caused us nothing but grief. Today it maneuvered us around the outer edges of Oklahoma City and soon had us heading west on I-40
Texas
With another two hours to go before reaching our destination we stopped at another Flying J to top off our Diesel and stretch our legs. It also gave us a chance to get rid of Another Bug Collection off our Windshield
It looks like the Sun is trying to break though just above the road.
Back on I-40 we couldn’t have driven Ten Miles and our Windshield looked just like it did before we cleaned it. As we approached Amarillo, Texas, Kathy was reading directions from our GPS which was saying that our Cut-Off was another Ten Miles up the Interstate. When I saw Landmarks that I recognized from last spring we turned off a lot sooner.
Our Pull-Through Site for Tonight.
We were starting to set up on our site for the next Three Days around 5:00 CST at the Amarillo RV Ranch after driving 379.6 Miles today. Even though we didn't see the Sun much today the outside temperature was at 79 F (26 C). That means that 78 Hours after leaving our site at Wildwood Golf and RV Park in McGregor, Ontario, Canada, we drove 1369.6 Miles to arrive in the warm weather we are looking for.
Tonight's Sunset.
Our Stay will help us get the Parking Lights working on the Trailer, fill our Medication Doucettes that we couldn’t before we crossed the International Border, Recover from Colds we’ve gotten and to have some Fun. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It’s about time.
