Hockey, Computer Work and Christmas Specials.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

Now I’m certain that we must be members of the bear family. Once we were all bundled up toasty in bed there was nothing that was going to wake us until this morning. Of course our hibernation only lasted for eight hours it still felt great to wake up feeling refreshed.

It didn’t take long to have our breakfast and Kathy was able to read all the morning blogs with no problem. No matter what I did my laptop just would not update the posts according to the last one posted. So because of an early game I went and had my morning shower and shave giving us only minutes before we had to leave.

Our grandson Tyler was playing hockey at 10:00 this morning and we always make certain we are there before the game starts. The goalie that Tyler had filled in for last week was back today and as soon as they came out on the ice was doing exercises that we had never seen him doing before. Apparently Sammy had been away to a goalie training camp and during today’s game it truly showed because he really improved from a few weeks ago.

Tyler would have one of his roughest games that he has ever played today. He played defense at the start of the game and did a great job throughout the first period. In the second period one of the opposing teams players hooked Tyler’s skates causing him to go head first into the boards. The play was temporarily stopped until he could make it back to the bench. Greg didn’t take long to get over there to make sure his son was not severely injured.
As Greg was making sure Tyler was okay the play continued and both teams started scoring. By the time Tyler was able to return to play the score was 3 to 2 against his team. Within the first two minutes the player that tripped Tyler fell in front of him and the referee gave Tyler a penalty he didn’t deserve but he let the other kid off with injuring Tyler. With less than a minute of play in the game when Tyler’s penalty was over he took the puck from his team’s end and score the tying goal with only seconds to spare. After the game he seemed to have bounced back but his parents will be keeping an eye on his health.

Back at the apartment I helped Kathy cutting vegetables and meat for her version of pepper steak and for another pot of her homemade chicken noodle soup. For lunch Kathy had a sandwich while I finished the last of the Lasagna to clean up a space in the fridge.

This afternoon I researched data for one of my spreadsheets. I then had to call Melissa to get names to apply to the Christmas Tracking spreadsheet that I was making for her. Within minutes I had the information I needed and twenty minutes later I had created files for the next eight years and I’m sure that she’ll find it easier than writing it on paper and using the calculator.

After supper Kathy called Vera and Bill to see how they are doing and to see how their son’s surgery turned out. Then we took the time to watch a few Christmas specials before reading the evening blog posts we follow. Tomorrow we are attending our first Christmas dinner with our friends as we count down our departure to Florida at the end of the month. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
