Cold White Hockey Day and Christmas Special.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.

I had such a sound sleep last night that I was wide awake long before 7:00 this morning. When I got up the first thing I had to take care of was the computers that I set to scan last night. The next thing I did after I was totally awake was get my exercise clothes on and started working out because I actually felt like doing it. Being retired has its good points but sometimes it draws the energy out of you that it takes to keep yourself in shape.

Even though she was tired Kathy managed to wake up a few times so she slept in until nearly 8:00 after she discovered that I was no longer in bed next to her. Instead of interrupting my workout she simply opened the curtains in the living room and sat in the recliner looking out the balcony door at all the white covered ground. The s@#wfall that was supposed to end by early this morning was still coming down as she looked out the window and it only stopped for about a half hour throughout the day. As a fact it is falling as I write this post.

Once breakfast was complete we set about doing our morning reading on the computers. Kathy got caught up on reading the kids Facebook accounts while I headed to the shower to freshen up. By the time I’d shaved and dressed she already had lunch on the table so we could be out the door before noon.

No we didn’t miss our grandson’s hockey game. It was his team’s turn to go to play a team in an adjoining district’s home ice so today they were playing in the Belle River arena. Only problem was before we could go anywhere I had to clean the truck off from Mother Nature’s gift to the area. There wasn’t that much snow to clean off the truck but the problem was the cold bitter wind.

Kathy and I arrived with time to spare but no one knew which rink in the building these kids were playing in. We actually started watching an all-girls league that really knew how to play the game and would have put many of the boys leagues to shame. That’s when we found out Tyler was playing on “A” rink at the front of the building. By the time we arrived the kids were just finishing their warm-up so we didn’t miss any play time.

Tyler’s team was outmatched even though they did get a couple of goals the team they were playing against was a travel team so as hard as they tried they couldn’t keep up. Their goalie Sammy even though he made many great saves looked like he wanted to bury his head in the ice with each goal he let slip by. He has many years to continue to hone his skills so here’s hoping he doesn’t give up. After leaving the arena Kathy and I stopped at Tim Horton’s for a coffee to warm up before going home.

Sitting at the computers we were both nearly falling asleep at the keyboard so we both to a Snap in the recliners before supper. Once we’d awaken we turned the television to another Disney Christmas Special that was just starting. Kathy managed to warm up supper during commercials so we ate at the table and still watched the program. It was cute!

We’re not sure what we’ll be up to tomorrow because it is the last day we don’t have anything booked to do from now until we leave between the holidays. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!

  1. Sure glad we don't have that weather here. We had three days of it in Texas and was enough for us.
