Sleep, Wake, Repeat.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Just when I though my sleep habits were finally heading in the right direction, it was one of those stop and replay moments that gave me about Two Hours sleep, out of the Seven that my CPAP Machines showed that I was hooked up for.

I barely made it to the Livingroom when Kathy came out of the Bedroom, stared at me with a dazed look on her face. 7:30 in the morning is not her normal wake up time, but she sensed my absence.

We finished the last Two Blueberry Muffins along with Yogurt Cups for breakfast before heading to our Computers with our Coffees. According to The Weather Network, the temperature was sitting at 39 F (4 C) but with the expected showers, we would reach a balmy 52 F (11 C) later in the afternoon.

When it came time for lunch, we enjoyed Italian Wedding Soup, but we changed things around. Instead of having Campbell’s brand, we tried the more flavourful and meaty President’s Choice. It well satisfied our appetites.

Watching the Drizzle outside and taking a break from the Computers, we watched the movie "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban". Like I have said many times, we are big fans.

By the time that was done, I had to start getting supper ready. Though I cook many of our meals from scratch, we are constantly trying Ready-Made Meals. If they work out, we might consider having them as a backup in our Freezer. The Sweet and Sour Chicken tasted great, but we will not be adding it to our go-to list. Hidden on the inside flap, the words "Contains High Quantities of Sodium" appeared. I always thought that was supposed to be on the outside.

Since it was still drizzling outside, we chose to watch another movie called National Treasure” with Nicholas Cage. It kept us guessing.

With Two Appointments for tomorrow, I already have the Alarm set. I wonder how I will sleep tonight.

Verification and We’ve Been Bugged.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Unbelievably, after spending minutes shy of Two Hours sleeping in my Recliner, I was only awake long enough to get to our Bed, where I woke exactly Six Hours later. I felt energized when I made my way to the Livingroom. That allowed me to get a head start on my morning reading, before Kathy came out to join me. Her first words to me were that she’d had a very good night’s sleep. She remembered tapping my side of the bed a number of times through the night, to feel me present. As I have said before, when I sleep in Bed, Kathy always sleeps better.

Back in January, the Doctor at the Pain Care Clinic ordered X-Rays and an Ultrasound on my Right Shoulder. I was able to get the X-Ray done the next day, but due to a shortage of Skilled Ultrasound Technicians, I was put on a List to be called to schedule an appointment. They called when Kathy and I were downstairs folding our Laundry. I was given the date and that it would happen in Windsor, but that was it. They said they would E-Mail me a couple days before with the details. Today was that day. The information allowed me to research the Location so that I am not fumbling around trying to find it. The X-Rays had shown severe damage of the Rotator Cuff, now the Ultrasound will show the amount of damage. The day I fell on that shoulder, I knew it was Bad.

Since we only had a Blueberry Muffin and Yogurt Cup for breakfast, when it came time to have a late lunch, we shared a Bacon/Veggie Omelette. Even though I already had the larger portion, Kathy passed her leftovers over to my plate.

Our daughter Karen called this afternoon to see how we were doing. Her family had gotten away on a Winter Break Getaway and really enjoyed it.

It was past 7:00 when we shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Hawaiian Pizza for supper. It satisfied us for the night.

Though we watched a few episodes of “Forensic Files” we were still working on our Computers. Trying to read the screen was sometimes quite annoying, because when we opened our Balcony Door yesterday to cool the Apartment, wee little bugs that we could no see, came inside and made themselves at home. Now when it gets dark, they fly around on our Computer Screens. Hopefully, they will leave as things warm up.

Hope to be out and about tomorrow.

Errands, Alzheimer Society and Lactose Intolerant.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

After spending only an Hour in my Recliner, I managed to spend the next Six Hours sleeping in Bed. When I got up, I noticed Puddles around the Parking Lot and on our Truck’s Tonneau Cover, where the birds were using it as a Birdbath. There was barely any Sunlight due to the heavy Cloud cover. It was all of 46 F (8 C) at the time.

Kathy woke up feeling tired, probably because she had taken her CPAP Mask off sometime during the night. That meant that her body did not fully regenerate the Oxygen Level in her Blood Stream. She would feel dragged out most of the day.

Having gotten things ready earlier, we were able to enjoy Blueberry Muffins and Yogurt Cups for breakfast. With our Coffees at our Computers, to help suppress our appetites, it was well past 1:00 when we stepped out to run our errands.

Our first stop was to Burger King to have a late lunch. Using a Coupon, we enjoyed their Crispy Chicken Sandwiches. We were just finishing up when I received a call from the Windsor Essex Alzheimer Society. If you recall last year, after the Neurologist diagnosed Kathy with the onset of Dementia, we had visited their office. Upset, Kathy argued that she did not need their help, but calmed down when I said that I did. They said that if they did not hear from us in Six Months, they would call us, and today was the day.

Since my cell phone does not want to work on Speaker mode lately so I was able to talk while sitting directly across from Kathy. Lorrie asked how things were going and if I needed any assistance at this time. When we got married in 2001, I made a vow to be with her through Sickness and Health, for Richer or Poorer, Till Death do us part, and plan to honour that as long as I can. Lorrie said that she would check back in another Six Months.

After finishing lunch, we made an unplanned stop at Canadian Tire, to pick up a few things that are only available at Canada’s Store.

We then headed to Guardian Storage to collect our Mail today since we were already out. Our Mailbox was full, and it included another Cheque from the Ontario Government. Why they send these Cheques every month for a total of $31.05, I have no idea, but after all the Taxes that I paid throughout my career, I will take anything they send me with a smile on my face. We stopped at the Credit Union, to add it to our account.

Next we went to Health First Pharmacy to pick up the Medications that the Doctor at the Pain Care Clinic prescribed.

When we got home, the first thing I did was to open our Balcony Door to cool the Apartment down. We had only worn our Denim Jackets but were sweating. The next thing I did was to check The Weather Network. We were shocked at what we saw so I checked the Radar to verify the results. When we had those warm days a couple of weeks ago, a Comment asked how that was possible. Today, at 3:30 in the afternoon showed, Windsor 73 F (23 C), Bayfield 54 F (12 C) and Collingwood 48 F (9 C). Quite a difference, all in Southern Ontario.

Since we ate lunch after 2:00, we had watched the “6 o’clock Local News” before we started thinking of eating. Since we had things that needed to be eaten, we had Frozen Yogurt Banana Splits for our supper. Something nobody had heard of when we were growing up as kids was, being Lactose Intolerant. After Self-Diagnosing myself, I conferred with my Family Doctor. He confirmed the findings and simply advised me to watch my Dairy Intake. I am feeling the results of tonight’s supper and am not hungry.

We will see what we can do tomorrow.

A Real Numbskull.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

Try as much as I could, it was another night lacking decent sleep. Even with a Teaspoon of ZzzQuil sleep aide to start the night, by 5:30 I was back out to take a full dose. That gave me a full Three Hours Sleep that I very much appreciated.

I was able to get things ready to make breakfast, before Kathy came out to join me. She did not remember scrunching all the Blankets, even though she was not using them. The easiest way to fix that, was to go back to my Recliner for an Hour. I did finish the night sleeping in Bed for Three Hours.

Kathy came with me to the Pain Care Clinic and managed to get a few more Chapters read in the book she had brought. After the Doctor reviewed the Pain Levels in my Shoulders and Neck, he once again transformed me into a Human Pincushion. When I mentioned having problems sleeping, he prescribed Melatonin to help, but with a Special Instruction. I have to be in a room void of any Lights, Televisions or Phones, only Total Darkness. I’ll pull the Blankets over my head. I did feel much better when I walked out, but we still had things to do before going home.

The first place we needed to go was to Wendy’s to have supper. Kathy found a table while I ordered our food. It was then that I started feeling strange but managed to get our food to the table. When I sat down, I leaned on my hand and suddenly found the problem. The Injections in my Neck had caused the Left Side of my Skull to feel Totally Numb similar to the Freezing from a Dentist. Kathy thought that I was joking, but even as I write the Blog, there is still a small portion that continues to be Numb, including my Cheek. I will be calling the Clinic to report the adverse effects tomorrow.

After eating, we headed back to the Zehr’s grocery store. We spent a Half Hour shopping for what we needed and another Half Hour trying to get through one of the Two Cashiers that were open.

When we got back to our building, Kathy helped me load our Folding Two Wheeled Shopping Cart, to bring everything upstairs.

I had everything put away before the “6 o’clock Local News” started. We reached a high of 54 F (12 C) this afternoon, but we will continue riding the “Weather Roller Coaster” for some time. With the threat of storms in the forecast for our area that really upset Kathy, I checked the Radar, only to find a few showers that would touch our region.

We later watched “Law and Order, Special Victims Unit” and “The Pitt”.

We have a couple errands to run tomorrow.

Running Errands and That Sucked.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

After verifying that yesterday’s Blog had published, I set about to get some sleep in my Recliner, but after staring at the ceiling just like on Monday Night, I headed to Bed. Unfortunately, just like Monday Night after doing the same thing in Bed it was back to the Recliner, where the effort had the same effect. Just like Monday Night, I took a recommended dosage of ZzzQuil sleep aide in an effort to get some rest. Just like Monday Night I went straight to Bed where I managed to get just over an Hour of sleep.

Though I was up only a few minutes before Kathy, we were having Cereal for breakfast, Fifteen Minutes after I got out of Bed.

We enjoyed our Coffees at our Computers, where I stared at the screen with blurred vision, reading the freshly posted Weather Reports, Blogs, News and Correspondents.

Holding off a bit after 1:00, we had Split-Pea with Ham Soup for lunch, then got ready to leave.

The Weather Network had reported Southwest Winds gusting to 30 MPH (50 KLH) but combined with the 33 F (0.6 C) temperatures it felt much cooler. When Kathy sat in the Car, she regretted not letting me pick her up at the door and needed to catch her breathe.

Since Spring does not officially start until Friday, we were surprised to see signs already being erected, notifying us of the start of Construction Season and they were not on Roads that were in dire need of repair.

We arrived at Fantastic Sam’s with time to spare, but looking inside the window, were surprised to see how crowded it was. Two by Two women were leaving with one or more children that had just gotten rid of their Shaggy Dog looks. It was not until we talked to Julia, that we were reminded that this is Winter Break for students. She worked her magic and we were on our way in no time at all.

With Plans to eat out, we drove down to the Hi-Ho on Howard only to find that they closed at 3:00 in the afternoon. Ever since Covid hit, their timing has left a lot to be desired. That left only one thing to do, we drove to the Michigan Diner on the east end of Windsor. Sitting in a Restaurant environment instead of Fast Food Outlets adds a sense of relaxation to the experience.

I have mentioned before that we do not always shop using a List. That means that things get missed, but that gives us an excuse to run errands, getting us out of our Apartment more often. Other times a store does not have what we wanted, so we either wait for it to come in, or we go to a different outlet. Combine all that together, meant that today we stopped at the Dollarama nearest our home. Something as simple as Breakfast Juice and Snack Bars, found their way home with us.

Kathy, again insisted that she help carry some of our purchases. As soon as we were in the Apartment, it was time to watch the “6 o’clock Local News”.

As soon as it was over, I started setting up to write today’s Blog. I had already cleared my Document Template, when I needed to reference something on Yesterday’s Blog. (Where the Hxxx did it go?) I verified it went live before shutting down last night, but only looked at our Sidebar this morning. Then without verifying it this evening, deleted what would have been posted. I recall more Telemarketing calls, Wind and St. Patrick’s Day but other things will be lost forever. With other Computer Glitches happening more often lately, I will need to be more mindful of things in the future.

Kathy watched an episode of “Mayday” before going to Bed early. Don’t forget, when I don’t sleep well, she does not sleep well. The moment I go to Bed, she automatically pats me down before going into a deeper sleep herself.

More errands to run tomorrow, with slightly warmer temperatures.

Nearly Back To Winter.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

As mentioned in yesterday’s Blog, we were experiencing High Winds most of the day. According to the Weather Guessers and the Radar they would diminish throughout the night. I have also mentioned before how the Bedroom Windows in our Apartment, were installed when this building had been built, so the cold air easily seeps in. The outside temperature just after midnight was 61 F (16 C). I kept waking most of the night because once my feet are cold, there is no way I can sleep.

By 7:30, I was tired of laying in bed, awake and shivering because my feet were so cold, so I simply got up to start my day. Just getting out of Bed and walking into the Livingroom, my feet instantly started to warm up. When I looked at The Weather Network just before 8:00 this morning, the temperature had dropped down to 43 F (6 C) thanks to 35 MPH (56 KLH) Southwest Winds gusting to 50 MPH (80 KLH). This afternoon it would drop to 37 F (3 C) with more Southwest Winds of 27 MPH gusting to 44.

Kathy joined me before 9:00 where we had Yogurt Cups and Breakfast Bars, before taking our Coffees to our Computers. We discussed what we would do after lunch as a way of getting away from the noise the Wind was still making here.

After a quick trip to empty our Recycle Containers into the Bins outside, I added another layer to try to warm up. Kathy immediately did the same before we headed out and she still felt cold by the time she reached the Car.

Our first stop was to Guardian Storage to collect our Mail, since we stayed home on Friday the 13th and forgot to go on Saturday. Mostly at this time of year, we are waiting for T4 Slips so we can get our Income Tax Returns filed. Today we hit the Mother Load.

We were starting to feel quite hungry so we stopped at a nearby Tim Horton. They had been advertising a Limited Time Offer on the television so we thought that we would give it a try. Even though I explained exactly what we wanted, that was not what we got and it cost a lot more than the advertised price. The food was good but that type of service sucks.

Our next stop was Dollarama to replenish Cough Drops and Brisk Iced Tea. Afterwards we thought about going to the grocery store, but the parking lot was packed, so we headed for home.

I dropped Kathy at the front entrance, before I parked the Car. I then used our Folding Two-Wheeled Shopping Cart to bring things upstairs to the Apartment. Kathy had turned on the Television and the “6 o’clock Local News” was just starting. There were a number of things happening in our area. There is still a chance of more Wind and Flurries tomorrow.

We later watched “Forensic Files” for entertainment.

To all those who plan on enjoying St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations tomorrow, remember to drink responsibly.

Our outdoor temperature is Below Freezing and there are Flakes going by our Balcony.
