Family Day and Mild Temperature.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

After spending most of Saturday Night in Bed, I was certain that my sleep routine was finally heading in the right direction but last night proved me wrong. I managed to spend more than Two/Thirds of the night in my Recliner, and it was not all sleeping. Still being tired this morning, led to sleeping later than I thought we would.

The moment I left the Bedroom, Kathy immediately joined me in the Livingroom. The Sun was shining past the Blinds, making everything glow with a brightness that was inviting, but in the distance, there was Fog hanging over the horizon.

We enjoyed Breakfast Snack Bars, Breakfast Juice to take our morning medications with and Yogurt Cups to start our day. With our Coffees at the Computers we managed to finish our Blog Reading before stopping for a late lunch of Chicken Noodle Soup. When we are not as active, we do not need to eat as much but are still comfortable.

I mentioned the other day how in parts of Canada, a new holiday had been created called Family Day. It gives students especially, a holiday between the Christmas Holidays and the March Break. That was today and it seemed that every time we looked down at the Ganatchio Trail, we saw Families enjoying this beautiful weather together. With Plans to go out for supper and to get some groceries, I totally forgot about that and kept telling Kathy I wanted to wait until the School Buses were off the road.

The temperature reached 50 F (10 C), so we were very comfortable wearing only Jackets when we went out. We went to the nearby Mary Brown’s chicken location to take advantage of their Monday Special. As we were leaving there, we noticed that all the stores in the Plaza were closed. The only businesses that were open were food related, Fast Food, Delis, Bakeries and Restaurants.

Instead of going for groceries, we headed home to watch the “6 o’clock Local News”. The forecast has changed and we can expect Rain with mild temperatures for the next few days, before we start seeing mixed precipitation for the remainder of the week.

As soon as the News was over, we watched the movie “It’s Complicatedwith Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin. It was released the year that I first retired, but we had never seen it. It was funny, but we are certain that something like that has happened many times in real life.

We will be busy tomorrow but still have enough food to last until the weekend.

Three Nights In A Row.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

I nearly reached my goal of spend the entire night in Bed last night. The last time I mentioned that, it came back to kick me. The main thing is that I will continue trying until it becomes a routine thing.

We were both enjoying our Breakfast Snack Bar and Yogurt Cup by 9:00 this morning. The Sun was shining in, but there was a Fog hanging above the horizon. This was being caused by the 34 F (1 C) temperature, melting the Winter Accumulation, bit by bit. Looking down from our Apartment, it was nice to see green starting to edge most of the neighbouring lawns.

After getting most of my On-Line reading done, I started getting things ready for lunch. I took less time than normal to blanch the Tomatoes, then finely chop Onions before simmering it into Homemade Tomato Soup. The topper was adding equal parts Mozzarella and Cheddar Cheeses into the mix. The trick was remembering how Hot it was, so as not to burn our mouths.

I had been delaying an Epson Salts Foot Bath, because Kathy kept saying that she was good. I finally took the time to do it for myself. I had been getting to the point that I could barely walk. Now I feel much better and will just have to remember to do it more often.

I mentioned yesterday that we had Leftover Halibut and Sweet Potato Fries to bring home for another meal. Since there were only a handful of Fries and Kathy likes those, we both had Asparagus as a side and I had Leftover Rice. We each had a square of a Nanaimo Bar for a dessert. Kathy’s favourite, not mine, but it was something.

We later watched a James Bond movie No Time To Die”. It has been over Forty Years since I last saw one. Kathy kept saying that she was not interested, but kept asking me for details of what was happening.

It was just after the movie was over that I realized, we have had Fish for supper the last Three Nights. It’s all good and maybe we can try for Four.

Since today’s temperature reached 46 F (8 C) again today, we Plan on taking advantage of that tomorrow.

Valentines Day Outing.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

Though I moved back and forth between the Two CPAP Machines, the one in the Bedroom got the most use last night. Kathy could not recall holding hands and claimed that she did not sleep well.

The Sun was already shining in when we started our day, but we were not in a hurry to be active. While Kathy was making the bed and getting dressed, I was busy making a Bacon/Veggie Omelette that we shared as for an early Brunch.

Checking The Weather Network around 10:00, we were both surprised to see that the temperature was not what the forecast had predicted but better, 43 F (6 C). Looking down at the parking lot, the piles of accumulated Flurries were shrinking by the hour.

We waited just past 2:00 before heading out the door. It felt good to only be wearing a Jackets rather than Winter Coats.

Heading west on Riverside Drive, it was nice to see the center expanse of the Detroit River void of any Ice. We continued until we reached Jefferson Avenue before heading south to Guardian Storage, to collect our Mail. Melissa was working today but is looking forward to Family Day on Monday. This was a Holiday designed to let Families share a day together. A day between the Christmas Holidays and the March Break, for the kids.

Even with an increase in Fuel Prices, we stopped at the Pioneer gas station to fill the Car. It was hard getting to the Pumps, because Vehicles were lined up to get cleaned at the bays at the back of the property. It was that kind of a day.

We did not get anything for one another for Valentine’s Day. Instead, we went to the Michigan Diner to celebrate this special day. We were not the only ones thinking that, because at 3:00 in the afternoon, the place was packed, Though I mentioned wanting the Halibut Fish and Chips from the Seniors Menu, they brought us the full-sized ones. That means that we can simply reheat what we brought home for another day.

Since Income Tax Returns will soon be due, we stopped at the Dollarama closest to our home, to pick up a few Resealable Folders. Their shelves were full of them last month, but we searched everywhere in the store, only to strike out. We did pick up a few Breakfast Snacks along with some Halls Cough Drops for Kathy.

We watched a few episodes of “Forensic Files” this evening.

We have a couple of 50 + days coming our way this week, the only downside is, they will be Wet.

Friday The 13th and Happy Valentines Day.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

I did manage to sleep most of the night and was only awake long enough to walk from my Recliner to the Bed and back again. I think that and the earlier Sunlight flooding the Apartment is starting make Kathy into an early riser. I barely reached the Livingroom this morning, when she could be heard making the Bed.

When she was told that it was Friday the 13th, she decided that she wanted to stay home, which is totally unlike her. She has never been superstitious about anything like that before.

Knowing that we would not be overly active, I kept our intakes down for the day. We started with a Breakfast Snack and Yogurt Cup before taking our Coffees to the Computers.

As I went through my routine of what to read before reading any Blogs, I was disappointed to see the G-Mails from those Fortunetellers were back, even though I had Unsubscribed their messages on our Blog’s G Mail account. I am considering replacing the Norton Antivirus as a way of getting something that actually works and will not slow down my machine.

It was time for a late lunch even though I still had a single Blog to read. Putting it on hold I served Italian Wedding Soup for our lunch. It held off any hunger until we had our supper.

Just as the “6 o’clock Local News” started supper was being served. We enjoyed Sauteed Zucchini, Potato Slices and Fresh Atlantic Salmon for our meal.

The Weather Guesser showed a slight change to our forecast. Just like today the temperature will be Above Freezing for the next week, but we could see more Flurries next week.

We later watched a few episodes of “Law and Order, Special Victims Unit” for entertainment. Though we watch it for fun, we do learn a lot about the Law.

Tomorrow, we’ll go out to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Statement Correction and Fortune Tellers.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

The other day I made a statement about balancing my time sleeping between my Recliner and in Bed. It was really not true but just a quip because of the time I have been spending in each. My main goal is to get back to the Gym to regain muscle tone in both my Shoulders and Neck, so I will eventually be able to sleep the entire night in Bed.

After spending a bit more time in my Recliner, I was able to wake up in Bed this morning. Surprisingly, when I woke at 8:00, Kathy was napping on top of the Bed Covers without her CPAP Mask on.

After looking outside and checking The Weather Network for any future changes, Cereal became our breakfast for today.

While checking our G-Mail associated with our Blog, I was surprised to find a couple of advertisements directed to Kathy from Fortune Tellers. They ended up in the same file as Spam Comments do for our Blog.

I was in a bit of a rush, so we shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Pizza for lunch.

We had watched the “6 o’clock Local News” before having Perogies for supper. The Weather Guesser showed that after tomorrow, we could finally experience more Seasonal Temperatures above the Freezing Mark.

We later watched “The Pitt” for entertainment. With our granddaughter working as a Trauma Nurse in Detroit, she says this show is an accurate depiction of what she sees daily.

We’ll be much busier tomorrow.

Better, 160th and A Sad Day.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

Normally I wait until the mornings to take a shower because they tend to invigorate me, which normally gives me a sleepless night. With the possible change to our appointments for the day. I took a chance that I would luck out and actually sleep. Being that my up and down sleep patterns of the last few nights had left me slightly fatigued, I fell asleep almost instantly when sat back in my Recliner. When I woke long enough to move to our Bed, I verified the Alarm was set. I am glad I did, because it was not. The next thing I remembered was that Alarm waking me at 8:00. Today, I had spent Eight Minutes more in Bed.

Looking outside, all we could see were Clouds in the sky. After a Breakfast Snack Bar, Breakfast Juice to wash down our Morning Medication and a Yogurt Cup, we took our Coffees to our Computers. As is the norm for days like this, as soon as I had checked The Weather Network, I opened my G-Mail to fill in my Questionnaire, so as to later save me time.

We barely had time to finish our Coffees, change our Clothes and we were on our way out the door. Kathy insisted on walking out to the Car with me, but with the Northwesterly Wind blowing slightly, she wished that she had waited at the door.

After taking the Drive to the Parkway, before getting on the Expressway, we were arriving at the Canadian Blood Services building, with little time to spare. By having done the Questionnaire at home, I simply presented a picture of the Q-Pass I had on my phone. After a quick check up, I was soon tipped back and hooked up. Luckily, Kathy remembered to bring a book to read while waiting for me. It was not long before I had made my 160th Blood Donation.

I had never finished that early, so when we went to Pita Pit to order our Healthy Fast Food, the place was nearly empty. By the time we sat down, the place was filling up with people coming in for lunch.

Though we had another appointment just up the road later this afternoon, Kathy just wanted to go home. Luckily, the newly opened No-Name grocery store had just opened in that Plaza. We went in mostly to check out the prices and actually purchased a few things, but other than that we can get the same prices at the nearby Zehr’s.

We stopped at Guardian Storage to collect our Mail, before returning to our Apartment. We barely had time to relax before having to leave again.

We arrived at Fantastic Sam’s with Ten Minutes to spare before Julia walked in for her shift. We had time to chat a bit while she trimmed back Eight Weeks worth of hair. We felt human again when we walked out the door.

Kathy was now insistent on eating out for the second time today, but first we stopped at the Bulk Barn to take advantage of their Senior’s Day Discount on Healthy Snacks.

From there we went to Wendy’s to have Chicken Nuggets for supper. Since it was nearly 5:00 when we arrived, the place was moderately filled, but by the time we headed for home again, it was filling up.

On the “6 o’clock Local News” there was disturbing news of a School Shooting in British Columbia, leaving Nine Dead and Twenty-Five more wounded. In Quebec there was a Murder/Suicide of two young Teenagers. What is going on here? The Weather Guesser showed that tomorrow will be the only day in the next week, that does not get above the Freezing Mark for our area.

We later watched a few episodes of “Mayday” before calling it a night.

Balancing Time and Birthday Wish.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

Though I am still sharing my time between my Recliner and Bed, I try to split it as even as possible but often it is more one sided. The first thing I do after starting my day is to turn off both CPAP Machines and check the time. Last night, I spent 3:43 in Bed and 3:44 in my Recliner. Talk about balancing my sleep.

The Sun was hidden behind the Clouds with the temperature at 23 F (-5 C) when we opened the Blinds. We settled for Banana Pancakes for breakfast, before taking our Coffees to our Computers. There was a lot of reading to get caught up on and by the time that was finished, streaks of Sunlight started shining across the parking lot.

Trying to balance our intakes, we enjoyed Split Pea with Ham Soup for lunch. I remembered Kathy getting frustrated, not wanting to serve the meals every day. This was my way of changing things around, so that we would not get tired of the same old, same old.

We had Planned on making an important phone call earlier in the day but had a second thought about doing it later. That worked out perfectly, because it gave our daughter Karen a chance to check how we were doing, while on her way home from work. Having a vehicle that is equipped with Blue Tooth makes things so much easier.

We enjoyed Honey Garlic Spareribs along with Sauteed Zucchini and Potato Slices for supper. We cheated by topping off our meal with a small dish of Frozen Yogurt for dessert later.

We had just started eating when the “6 o’clock Local News” came on. The Weather Guesser really surprised us, when he showed that we had reached a high of 45 F (7 C) this afternoon.

As soon as the News was over, we made a very important call to wish our grandson Cameron a Very Happy Birthday. Hard to believe that he is already 26 years young. He makes everyone smile.

After cleaning up the Dishes and Kitchen, we watched an episode of “Mayday”. That was one of the better outcomes we have seen.

Falling Over.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

After only a short time in my Recliner, I was able to finish the night in Bed. That is where things took an unexpected turn. The moment that I stood next to the Bed this morning, I fell against it. This was not a case of my Vertigo causing this, because the room was not Spinning. It seemed the problem was my legs would go in a direction that I did not want to go. After using the wall for support, I was able to use my Cane until my body functioned the way it was supposed to.

Looking outside the Clouds filled the sky, but there were no signs of a breeze. Checking The Weather Network, it confirmed what I knew, but it also showed the temperature to be 3 F (-16 C). It would eventually make it to 21 F (-6 C) by mid-afternoon.

It was barely past 9:00 while Kathy made the Bed, that I used some of the Veggie Stir-Fry, I made last evening, to make a Bacon/Veggie Omelette that we shared for our breakfast. Our Coffees accompanied us to our Computers.

It was after 3:00 when Kathy had an Apple for an afternoon snack, while I chose to have a Mandarin Orange.

We shared the second Ready-Made Salad we picked up a the grocery store last week as our supper, while watching the “6 o’clock Local News”. The forecast for this coming week has changed quite a bit since we last saw it. The temperature will not get as high as first mentioned, but with more Sun in the forecast, we could be starting to see more Green to our landscape.

We later watched a few episodes of “Forensic Files”.
