Trying Again.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

After our extensive errands and shopping trip yesterday, neither of us had any problem sleeping last night. However, when I saw the time this morning, approaching 7:00, I willed myself to sleep longer and I did. At 8:27 I finally started my day.

I didn't even try to get things ready for breakfast, because my body was not telling me it was hungry. Instead, I started reading all the Blogs we follow, while the News was off, and Kathy was still sleeping, out of Fifteen, there were only Three left when Kathy came out to join me.

It didn't take long to serve the Bran Muffins and Yogurt Cups for breakfast and our Coffees directly to our Computers.

There were a few errands that needed tending today, so we headed out around 1:30. The first thing we did as to attempt to start the Truck again, using our Booster Tool and the Car. Even though I have been starting the Truck every week in the parking lot, it is not enough to maintain the Battery Power, it needs a good run on the road.

With a full Fridge of food, we headed to Wendy's for a late lunch. With their Dave's Single on for $4.00 and a Free Senior's Soft Drink, (On until October 26th) it was satisfying and inexpensive.

Our next stop was the Credit Union. Though we were there just yesterday I forgot to get some extra Cash to have, in case Interact was not working, or for special expenses. We were shocked when we pulled into their empty parking lot on a Tuesday. I tried the door just in case, On the evening News we were reminded that this was "The Day Of Reconciliation" for the horrific ways the North American Aboriginals were treated during the colonization of the New World.

With recent Road Construction, engineering determined that it was a wise thing to sever a thoroughfare that was in use when my parents were born. Today, I experimented with other routes that both involved Highways. They were both quicker than the Alternative Route the City has posted.

We arrived at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 594 shortly before 3:00. We are sometimes busier that what is written in the Blog, so today I was there to pay my Yearly Dues. Recently to cut costs of having staff in the Office fulltime, everyone now has to pay at the Bar, which was perfect, because I was able to use my Debit Card for the transaction.

With more errands to do, we did not even stay for a drink but headed off to explore our second option of traveling to the Legion.

Yesterday when we were restocking our food supplies, we did not have a Grocery List. The reason for that was because, we needed everything. Just walking down aisles and grabbing what you feel you need is not aways the best way to shop, because things get missed. Today we stopped again at the Dollarama closest our building to rectify our shortfalls and maybe a few snacks as well.

It was already past 5:00 after we checked out and we were starting to feel hungry. Right across the parking lot was a Mary Brown's outlet (Canadian Brand). There was something for whatever you felt like having.

It was 5:40 when we parked back at our building. Unlike yesterday we easily carried our purchases upstairs by hand.

With everything put away, we later watched a "Murder Mystery", "High Potential" and no Local News. All because of "The Day Of Reconciliation". The "National News" showed Donald Trump again threatening more Tariffs on Canadian products. He then started saying Canada should becime the 51st State.

Words of Inspiration

Love is a force more formidable than any other. It is invisible, it cannot be seen or measured, yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment and offer you more joy than any material possession could.

Three In A Row and Restocked.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Even though I was hoping to get an early start this morning, I never set the alarm. After waking at the exact same time, Two Days in a row, I was hoping for something close. Instead of waking up close, I woke up at exactly 7:38 for the Third morning in row.

The reason for the early start was to slice up the last of the Vegetables still in the Fridge and make them into a Stir-Fry. I was just starting to slice the last of the Bacon when Kathy came out to join me around 8:30. The only thing she could do was check things on her Computer, but by 9:00 we were sharing a Mozzarella/Bacon/Veggie Omelette. There were plenty of Dishes to wash afterwards.

Not wanting to have Stir-Fry for a second time in a day, we headed out at 1:30. We had multiple errands to run, but the first things first. Breakfast had long passed so we stopped at McDonald's for a late lunch. We were lucky enough to have Coupons to use, but it was still more expensive than at Wendy's.

From there we headed to Guardian Storage to collect our Mail that we didn't do last Saturday. This will be the last time this will happen, because the Postal Workers are again "On Strike" again. Just last December they were forced back to work by the Courts. Maybe this time, things will get straightened around properly.

Our next stop was at the Credit Union to make payments on our cards and to deposit another Government Cheque sent last week.

With little left to eat in the Fridge or Freezer it was time to do some shopping. Our first stop was at Dollarama where we replenished our Breakfast Juice and Brisk Iced Tea drinks. Kathy also stocked upon Cough Drops.

Next we headed to the Zehr's grocery store where we restocked Produce, Dairy, Meats and Frozen Foods.

It all fit in the Car, but after parking back home, we needed to use our Folding Two Wheeled Shopping Cart to haul it up to the Apartment. The problem was that today we had 86 F (30 C) Humidex that was causing us problems. After getting the Groceries put away, I had to make a trip back down to the Car, to bring a second load up. It was past 5:30 when we finally had a chance to have a break.

It was after 7:00 when we enjoyed Macaroni and Cheese for a late supper.

Later we watched a few episodes of "Forensic Files" before watching the "11:10 Local News". It seems that the carriers think that Football is more important than our Local News, that included a mass shooting in Michigan.

We'll be busy again tomorrow.

Talk About Turning Things Around.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

I couldn't believe it! Other than waking long enough to walk from my Recliner to the Bed, I slept the entire night, waking at 7:38 this morning.

Since Kathy has always needed more sleep than anyone I have ever known. Even all the Doctors she has ever had, said it was perfectly normal, that some people just need that extra time to recharge their bodies. The fact that we both have Sleep Apnea, justifies the reasoning.

I had finished all of my Blog Reading and was writing a Correspondence when Kathy joined me. We settled for a Breakfast Bar and Chocolate Pudding to start our day. Of course, we brought our Coffees to our Computers.

It was past 1:00 when we shared the last of the Leftover Chicken Dumplings, that our daughter Karen and son-in-law Greg brought over last Sunday. They had been cooking up meals for the week to take to work, rather than eating out or canteen food. Lucky for us, they cooked too much and didn't want it to go to waste. We've enjoyed every bite that they brought over. Thanks Guys!

We continued our researching and reading. It was nearly 7:00 when we started feeling hungry once again. This time I dug deeper in the Fridge to use up the Beefsteak Tomatoes. We had Grilled Mozzarella/Bacon/Tomato Sandwiches, with Dill Pickles for a side. Unfortunately, even though Kathy loves Dill Pickles, the Vinegar caused her to start Choking. It took a few minutes for her to recover but she ate the whole thing.

Since our Local News does not appear on the weekends, and the other Network sucks (my opinion, not everyone else's), we found a movie to watch, "Guardians of the Galaxy". It was a Sifi that had us laughing and on the edge of our seats at the same time.

There is just enough in the Fridge to make an Omelette for Brunch tomorrow. Now we have no choice but to go grocery shopping.

Tex-Mex, Vic and Black Widow.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

After a not so restful night, I still managed to be up by 7:38 this morning and I felt rested. That is Wierd! When I get lots of sleep I feel tired the entire day, but when I have trouble sleeping, I have energy to spare. ???

I'd read all the Correspondences, News and Blogs we follow, before starting to cook breakfast. As soon as the French Toast hit the Frying Pan, I opened the Bedroom Blinds, pulled the Bedsheets down and told Kathy breakfast was ready. By the time she sat down, I was putting her plate in front of her. As soon as mine were in the Frying Pan, I was serving our Breakfast Juice and Coffees. I think I'm getting better at this cooking. This helped to use up the partial loaf of Bread, meaning we still have another one to go.

Stupid Computer was giving me a hard time, so I checked my Facebook Account that I haven't looked at in a Month. The only thing that surprised me, was to see Vic the Inspector I worked with at Windsor Feedscrew, had gotten married on January 1st of this year. It was only posted Yesterday.

Still trying to clean up the Fridge, I came across the Chicken Tex Mex that our daughter Karen and son-in-law Greg had brought over on Sunday evening. It may sound like we eat a lot, but we don't. The fact that our Fridge keeps everything very cold, also helps to make it last longer. Even after lunch today, there are still Leftovers for another meal.

I had thought about working on our Truck today, but when I told Kathy that the outside Humdex was 88 F (31 C), she wanted nothing to do with it. We are expecting Sunny skies for the rest of the week, but due to the shorter days, the temperatures will be much more tollerable.

I've mentioned monitoring the Weather quite often. It's probably a Canadian Thing. One of the things that many people don't watch is the time between Sunrise and Sunet. This Summer our longest day was Fifteen Hours and Sixteen Minutes. Last Winter, our shortest day was only Nine Hours and Eleven Minutes. That's a Six Hour and Six Minutes difference. We are halfway there, with today only having Eleven Hours and Fifty-Six Minutes between Sunrise and Sunset.

For supper we enjoyed a Store-Bought Lasagna that had been in the Freezer. We try different frozen foods, so if we are in hurry for a Meal and it taste decent, then we might stock it again. It was tasty but since I did not have the Cooking Instructions, it was only warm, not burning Hot. I've mentioned before how we recycle the Packaging, in order to save space in our Freezer.

We watched the movie "Black Widow" this evening. It was supposed to be part of the Marvel Comic theme, which was hard to see, but after the first Ten Minutes it was almost non-stop action.

I believe that we'll be out tomorrow, but I'm not certain if it will be for grocries.
