Sweltering and Tests Results.

When I was speaking with my sister Anna yesterday, I mentioned only taking the Tylenol when I was in Extreme Pain or before going to bed so as not to strain my Liver. She mentioned that the Pain is actually building in my body and that is probably why my Nighttime Mickeys don’t always work. The way I slept last night would agree with what she said, as I Tossed and Turned most of the night.

Though we spent an Hour on the Computers, we were on our way shortly after 11:00. My appointment wasn’t until after lunch, so that was the first thing we stopped for at A&W in Tecumseh. We settled for their Chubby Chicken Sandwiches, with Onion Rings and a nice cold mug of Diet Root Beer. Even before lunch, it felt good to sit inside the Air Conditioned Building. We took our time, but before we knew it was time to leave.

We drove the Five Hundred Feet across the parking lot, to the Essex County Respiratory Services. Like before it felt good to get inside the AC. After I was given another Breathing Test, the doctor said I hadn’t gotten the CT Scan nor had I completed the Asama Test. He seemed upset when I gave him the Date and Time of each one. Just the fact that there are a couple of Spots on my Lung, I’ll see him next August.

We made a few stops on the way home because the weather was Sweltering. At Walmart Kathy looked for new Jeans but couldn’t find any. I wasn’t looking but found some Pajamas that I’ll need for my Hospital stay.

With the heat building, 106 F (41 C) Humidex, and Threatening Clouds coming from the North, we stopped at Wendy’s for supper. We were enjoying our meal as well as the AC when people came running in for cover. The Rain was like a solid wall of water for Five Minutes, before slowing to a Drizzle for another Five Minutes. If we had gone straight home, we would have been soaked. Instead we walked out to humid but cooler temperatures and stayed dry.

I spoke briefly with my Aunt Anna this evening and it looks like I’ll have to call Amazon back about the Extra Postal Charges.

Two Annas and Blogger.

With all the errands we ran yesterday and the ensuing Stress, when it came time to sleep, there was no problem. Of course the Nighttime Mickey also helped to calm me down, but when I sleep so does Kathy.

We enjoyed Blueberries on our Cereal for breakfast.

Just as we were settling in to work our Computers, my Aunt Anna called, but there was a problem. Somehow Loud Music (Like you hear when you are put on Hold), started playing over our conversation. The next thing we knew we were cut off. Since she has a Personal Cell Phone, I knew it wasn’t the Nursing Home causing the problem. When I tried calling back, it kept going to Voice Mail, so I said I’d call after supper.

Minutes later I was calling my sister Anna in London to wish her a Happy Birthday. Since she reads the Blog daily we had a lot to talk about. I was giving her tips on things I knew about and she did the same. We’ll be talking again soon.

Lunch was Grilled Cheese Sandwiches with Pickles for garnishing.

When I went check the Blogs we follow, I found our’s looking strange. I always write it on a Document, then Copy and Paste to the Blog. The entire Blog was in Bold Print and the Line Spacing is off. I corrected the Bolding Problem but the Spacing is still fighting me.

Amazon never Called or E-Mailed me today, about the Courier Debacle. It was nice just to chill, even though our Humidex reached 99 F (37 C), we didn’t turn on the AC until I started cooking supper.

We sat at the table enjoying our Bacon/Veggie Wraps for supper, while watching the 6 o’clock Local News. Looks like we’ll be a bit wet through the weekend.

It wasn’t until I sat down to write this Blog, that I realized I forgot to call my Aunt. I’ll call her in the morning.

Amazon Follies Continue.

Even with the Full Nighttime Mickey I barely slept until 4:00, when I added another Half Dose of ZzzQuil. Sitting in my Recliner I finally felt tired and headed back to bed, it was 6:30. It seemed that I only blinked before it was 8:40.

After another quick breakfast while Kathy checked a few things On-Line, I was busy getting ready for my afternoon appointment. While she got ready, I tracked my Amazon orders.

We stopped at Tim Hortons to have a Grilled Chicken Wrap for lunch.

Arriving early at Metropolitan Hospital, the process of getting checked in, then hobbling back to the necessary department went smoothly. I was told they were running ahead, so I was brought in early. The results seemed to satisfy the Urologist enough I won’t see him again until next June. We were driving down the road before my scheduled appointment.

We stopped at Guardian Storage, where we picked up Three Amazon Orders that were dropped off before 11:00 this morning along with a Slip for a Package at a Post Office located in Tecumseh.

We stopped at McDonald’s for a couple of Blueberry/Pomegranate Smoothies to cool us down from the 99 F (37 C) Humidex. I also needed to use the washroom. When Kathy asked what Doctor had just done and she cringed when I told her.

In the Tecumseh Post Office, Kathy was in there for some time, so I went to check. The Courier had just dropped the Package after 2:00, so we then had to pay more so we could have our Package.

We missed returning Kathy’s unusable Pants because I was upset and just want to home where all the Amazon orders were recorded. I checked all these Amazon Packages and found them good. They had all been ordered this past Saturday and they were here. The Package we had to chase after and Pay for its release, was ordered July 7. The Delivery Date kept getting pushed back. The Courier could have left it with the Three Packages at Guardian Storage, instead he brought it to the Tecumseh Post Office, Five Miles away.

I was on the phone with Amazon for nearly an Hour. It appears Postmedia Parcel Delivery might not be couriering Amazon Packages much longer.

It was nearly 8:00 when we shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Canadian Pizza for supper. We are not taking anything Dietary but are just not eating as much.

Hard To Find.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

After making certain to take my full Nighttime Mickey last night, it was a restful night for the both of us. (If I sleep, so does Kathy.) We enjoyed the peace.

We settled for a Muffin and Yogurt Cup for breakfast, like yesterday and tomorrow.

With the intent to do some shopping for Kathy today, we settled on Chicken Noodle Soup for lunch, along with Strawberries for dessert.

Our first stop was Walmart, where Kathy shopped for some Pants and I looked to find Polarizing Sunglasses, to replace her broken ones. I was successful, but Kathy struck out.

From there we headed over to the Tecumseh Mall. Kathy went through more than a Dozen Clothing Stores. If she had felt like wearing skimpy pieces of clothing like you typically see strutting the beaches, she would have had a wide selection. I held a couple of benches from moving around.

Finally we drove to another shop, to find Two Pair (Different Sizes) that Kathy thought would work. The problem was there was no Change Rooms, but there is a Fourteen Day return policy. They came home with us.

It was past 4:30 but we still had another stop, so we stopped at Harvey’s. We enjoyed their Grilled Chicken Salad for supper. It was not only tasty but quite filling as well.

Though Dollarama closes at 6:00 on Sundays, we walked in shortly before 5:30 and managed to get what we needed before the doors closed.

At the Apartment, while I was putting things away, Kathy was upset that I insisted she try on the Pants we had just purchased. Though she was at first upset, it proved that one pair didn’t fit.

Starting tomorrow, we’ll be into another busy week.

Half Physio, Orders and A Mystery.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

I made certain to take the entire Nighttime Mickey before going to bed last night and Kathy had a great night’s sleep. It was shortly after 8:00 when I got up and had just started getting things ready in the kitchen, when Kathy joined me. Breakfast was a Muffin and Yogurt Cup.

Changing things around, we had Toasted Tomato Sandwiches for lunch, with Strawberries for dessert.

Since I was still cringing this afternoon from yesterday, we postponed our Dollarama shopping until tomorrow.

I’ve written before how we try different Prepared Foods and if they are decent, we might consider having them on hand for a quick meal in a pinch. Tonight we tried the Blue Ribbon brand Shepherd’s Pie. Normally they come in One big pan, so you have Leftovers, or pig-out to eat the entire thing. When the box was opened, there were Four Individual Sized pans. It can be cooked in the Oven or Micro-Wave and was satisfying, without too much Salt. We have another meal waiting to be freshly cooked.

Even though there were no further sliding incidents, my Hip/Leg made certain that I remembered yesterday’s Incident. I am supposed to do the Physiotherapy Exercises twice a day, to build up my strength before the Surgery, but this morning I was still too sore. While gritting my teeth, I managed to get the entire routine in after having supper.

There were still a few things that I need to complete the Solar Panel Connections, so after checking different things for days, I was able to order more than I need at Half the Price. They’ll arrive next week.

We found another Murder Mystery to watch tonight. Who does not like a goodWho done it”?

Painful Slip.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

After saying that I was going to stick with the full Nighttime Mickey, I then rushed to go to bed and messed up. I forgot to take the ZzzQuil which is a big part of the Mickey. Tossing and Turning had me up by 2:00 correcting that. There was a little problem when I was going back to bed in the dark, which is something I do all the time, my slipper hooked the rug at the end of our bed and it rolled, that resulted in an unexpected slide. Fortunately, I landed across the foot of bed, but my Hip/Leg Pain hit Twelve. It took another Extra Strength Tylenol to get me back to bed. The next thing I knew it was past 8:00.

I also mentioned yesterday that the only Perishable Food left in the Fridge would become our breakfast. Before going to bed, I had already taken out the Fry Pans that I’d be using. That meant I could start getting things together without waking Kathy. While I had everything cooking, I simply opened the Blinds and let the Sun do the rest. The Bacon/Veggie Omelette was a bit more filling than I expected, having used Five Eggs, Six Bacon slice and the Leftover Stir-Fry.

There were more Detours added to our drive this morning. Lots of extra projects just suddenly popping up.

The last time we were at Advanced Rehabilitation Center I was told to park in the back lot and they would reimburse the fee. Thinking that was a good thing to do, that’s where we parked. The only problem was the distance to the door was Five Times further and there were no Handicap Parking spaces.

The Physiotherapists was concerned about my morning fall and advised me to take the rug out of the bedroom. They didn’t add any extra exercises to my day.

We were still full from breakfast, so we only had a Pastry for lunch.

Though I was still sore we spent the next Hour at the Grocery Store. By the time we got back to the Car, I needed another Extra Strength Tylenol.

Our Freezer is not overly stocked, so there’s less chance of waste. Our Fridge is very full of everything we’ll need for a while.

We are watching a Murder Mystery this evening and I’ll be certain to take all my Nighttime Mickey tonight.

Imperial Measure.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

As I often have mentioned in the past, when I start sleeping a number of nights in a row, I would reduce the Nighttime Mickey, that I taken in order to accomplish that. I have also learned that every time I did that, my (our) sleep suffered for it. This time I intend to keep taking this combination until the day of my Hip Surgery. Once the Pain eases away, then I can cut back on those medications.

Lately, I am not out of bed long when Kathy comes out to join me. She wakes up when she senses that my side of the bed is empty. How is that possible you may ask? While she is asleep, she reaches over and taps my side of the bed. She even does it through the night, as I feel it happening. I don’t mind, it just means that she cares.

Besides working on the Computer today, I continued my quest to use up as much of our perishables as possible. We actually cleaned the Freezer and had to sadly toss a few Pre-Covid purchases. When I was working the fresh food was put on top and the old went to waste. I even cleaned a few of the Pantry drawers, bringing forward non-perishable things we can eat out.

As of this writing, there is only enough food in the Fridge for our breakfast tomorrow. We don’t even have a Shopping List, because we need everything. We’ll be walking the aisles and filling our Cart. The one difference will be, we won’t overstock our Freezer.

After the 6 o’clock Local News we headed out to Shoppers Drug Mart to take advantage of the Twenty Percent Seniors Discount that takes place every Thursday. It wasn’t much, but it was toiletries that we needed.

In yesterday’s Blog I spoke about the Metric Conversion. In a Comment, Patsy reminded me that before Canada changed to Metric, our form of measurement was actually the Imperial Measure. Back then US Citizens crossed the International Border to purchase their Gasoline in Canada. The reason was the Imperial Gallon was equal to 1.25 US Gallons, at the same price as the US. With the American Dollar being higher even back then, the trip paid for itself.
