It took longer than I Planned to get the Blog published last night, but I was still tipped back in my Recliner by Midnight, 2:00 and 4:50. Yes, it was one of those nights, but I did wake up in Bed shortly after 8:00 this morning. Within minutes Kathy was up even though I had yet to try to wake her.
Last night I had promised to give Kathy a breakfast that she had never had before and I succeeded. Kathy has developed quite the sweet-tooth and when we walk through the Pastry Aisles at Zehr’s or Walmart she zeroes in on Strawberry/Rhubarb Pies. When I was still working she would serve a Quarter Pie to each of us for dessert. When I started serving our meals and desserts, downsizing was what I tried to do, because the inactivity was showing up around my waist. There were objections, but now the pies last twice as long, but in order for none of it to go bad, it still needs to be eaten in a Week. Today’s breakfast was Strawberry Rhubarb Pie a-la Mode.
After noticing the overnight Rain was drying up, I verified what I had found out yesterday, by looking at the Radar myself.
I have been trying to print out my personal Surgical and Medicinal Information sheets for the last couple of weeks, but the Printer is not cooperating. Luckily, I found an older printout that would have to do for today.
While I showered Kathy kept reviewing the same Tornado Reports that she looks at Three Times Daily. No matter what the date is on the report, she insists that it just happened. A Tornado hit parts of LaSalle and Windsor back in 2016 but to her, it just happened hours ago.
It was barely 11:30 when Kathy said she was hungry again, so we shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Pizza for lunch. As soon as we had eaten, we were heading out the door.
At 55 F (13 C) with a steady Northwesterly Breeze, we appreciated having our Denim Jackets to stay comfortable. Parking at the Hospital was not hard enough, now Contractors are redirecting the Curbs to make it even harder. After registering at the Admission Desk, we had to trek our way down to the Pre-Op Department, so they could start poking and prodding me for next week’s event. Though I had a list of all my Medications, I was scorned for not having brought the actual Vials and Bottles. I was also told to stop taking any Vitamin Supplements until after the Surgery. ????
It was just past 2:30 when we rolled out of the parking lot. There was still plenty of Construction Detours to keep us guessing and just as we neared our end of the City, Kathy said she wanted lunch. I mentioned we had already had that, but she knew that she had not eaten yet. Stopping at Wendy’s, Kathy decided she wanted something different, but when asked what she wanted, replied “You know what I want”. Luckily, there was a new special on their board that saved the day.
With the unfinished Shopping List from yesterday, we went to the Dollarama closest to home, in order to continue our Stockpiling. Knowing that we could not carry the entire lot at once, we made it in Two separate trips inside the store.
Back home, the Folding Two-Wheeled Shopping-Cart felt like it was heavier than yesterday, even with less items. It was all Liquid and there was no way to carry it by hand.
The Weather Guesser on the “6 o’clock Local News” admitted that there had been far less Rain than he had forecasted. We later watched a few Documentaries on the History Channel.
I already explained to Kathy what I want to accomplish this week. I can only hope that she does not come up with another Plan.
