Celebration Scorcher.

I’ll definitely be thanking the Doctor for prescribing the New-to-Me Medication, that was meant to solve one problem and has taken care of my inability to sleep all at the same time.

We both seem to wake at the same time this morning, though I do seem to be sluggish for the first Half Hour, somehow I still managed to get things ready for breakfast, all while looking through eyes that felt like a frosted window. The Pharmacist had said my body would adjust with time.

After enjoying our Coffees, I busied myself signing Birthday Cards, then adding the Gift. It’s nice to be personal but a Twelve Year Age Difference, it is a little trickier.

With everything going on, it was simpler just to pick up lunch on our way, so we stopped at Wendy’s for just that reason. The outside temperature was 93 F (34 C) feeling like 100 F (38 C) at that early hour, so sitting inside the Air Conditioned building only made sense.

It had not been made clear whether we’d be sitting inside or out, so we made a quick stop to pick up our Camping Chairs at Guardian Storage. It’s amazing how many people are working in their storage units on the weekends.

Since the last time we went to Jen’s house there has been an increase in Road Construction, to the point the Contractors are parking their equipment across the road to restrict access.

Another uncertainty was we were not getting together in Essex, but at at a Campground that we had never been to. Travelling down the Bypass that has been under construction for the last Five Years, made it harder because of the change of Landscape Markers.

We eventually arrived at Leisure Lake and had to sign-in. The pools were packed with people of all ages, which made no sense. Most were Beet Red and just looking at them, we could feel ourselves cooking under our clothes while walking from the Car to the Office. The staff showed us on the map how to get to Jack and Sue’s site, but it seems they count different than we do. We ended up half way down the road before Jack called out to us. Since it was a special occasion they had been able to book the Pavilion right next to the Office.

With the use of Fans it was a lot cooler inside than out, especially since we were out of the Sun. The kids played indoor games, while the adults had the chance to catch up on everything going on. There was plenty of Non-Alcoholic Drinks to cool down with along with Wraps, Salads and Chips to keep the energy levels going.

The boys liked their Gifts from everyone so the Celebration was a success. We took a different route to go home, that helped us avoid most of the Road Construction but not all.

Though we had ran the Air Conditioner in the Car, it felt good to turn on the AC when we walked in the Apartment. According to the Weather Guessers, it had gotten hotter than expected. Also stated was the Humidex had reached 117 F (47 C) and that it could get worse this Summer.

We didn’t need any snacks while watching a few episodes of “Criminal Minds”. We’ll change things up tomorrow.

Weekend Warmth.

Having only taken the New Medication for the second time last night, I waited until it was time to lean back in my Recliner before taking it. I then simply sat down, leaned back, closed my eyes and instantly fell asleep. That fast! Two Hours later I woke long enough to go to Bed for the remainder of the night. As I said in yesterday’s Blog, this should be labelled as a “Sleep Aide”.

Waking shortly after 8:00 I was just getting things ready for breakfast when Kathy came out to join me. She claimed to have had a great night’s sleep and felt well rested. I have noted that the longer I am in bed, the better she sleeps and sometimes we even hold hands through the night, which is slightly difficult because we both use CPAP Machines. Still not the same as cuddling before our Sleep Apnea diagnosis.

I took care of some On-Line Banking today, that leaves me with even more things to check into come Monday.

Trying to change things up, while not wasting any food, I again checked the Best Before Dates on some of the Canned Goods we have for our lunch. Most have a Three-Year time span from the time they are packaged. That means we have now used everything purchased in 2020.

I also did more checking where the Birthday Celebration will be taking place tomorrow. Things might change when they realize the Humidex for tomorrow is forecasted to be a dry 115 F (46 C).

After reading more articles on the results of these Scorching Temperatures, does not sound very good for the future for our Grandchildren. Now we are officially into Summer and there are a lot of those days heading our way. Enjoy the Weekend.

Warming Up.

If you recall in last night’s Blog, I had taken a New-To-Me Medication, for another issue, that had the warning “May Cause Drowsiness”. I barely finished publishing the post and fell asleep in my Recliner. I woke just long enough to go to Bed to finish my night. That Medication should be listed as a Sleep Aide, because I haven’t slept that well in Years.

I’d barely opened the Balcony Blinds this morning, when I could hear Kathy coming from the Bedroom. All through breakfast I was having trouble keeping my eyes open.

Unlike yesterday where the Clouds filled the sky for the entire day, today the Sun and Rain were taking turns. With a forecast for a break in the weather later this afternoon we waited to head out until 4:00.

With a couple of Birthdays being celebrated this weekend a quick stop at the Credit Union was needed, before going to check for our Mail. When we arrived at Guardian Storage we found the door locked. Since we didn’t believe there was anything of importance heading our way and with a Humidex of 97 F (36 C) we figured we could wait until next week to check it out.

It was past 5:00 and we decided it was easier to stop at Arby’s to have supper, before heading home.

We later watched a few episodes of “Monk” before watching the “11 o’clock Local News”. It looks like tomorrow will be a repeat of today weather-wise, but it could also feel like an Oven starting next week.

I’ll be taking only the second tablet of those new medications tonight. Hopefully, everything is feeling better tomorrow.
