Pain, Tariffs and Polar Vortex.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

This is old news that keeps repeating itself. I’m able to go to bed and sleep until the Pain in my Neck gets too bad. I’ve found that taking something for that Pain does not ease it in the least. What does ease that Pain is by my sitting in my Recliner in a semi-seated position. I am then able to Blink my eyes long enough for the Pain to disappear. At that point I can return to bed until the Pain then wakes me up for the day.

We had Strawberry/Yogurt Parfaits for breakfast, with Hot Chocolates that we brought over to the Computers. The outside temperature was 7 F (-14 C) feeling like -22 F (-30 C). When we first looked out the Balcony Door you could see where vehicles that had been parked overnight, were missing. Before getting ready for lunch there was no evidence of missing units, because everything had again turned White.

We had been on the Computers for what seemed like Hours because it was, when Kathy pointed to the time. It was nearly 3:00 when we sat down to have Baked Beans on Toast for a late lunch.

Since the temperature never moved all day, we held off from going anywhere and just continued working on the Computers. I just happen to notice the 6 o’clock Local News was about to start. The big news was dealing with Trump’s planned Tariffs on Canadian Imports. For the last Hundred Years the Auto Industry has survived by making parts on both sides of the International Border, then assembling them in specified Assembly Plants, before shipping them to dealerships on both sides of the International Border. The rest would be on our Natural Resources which we could easily sell to other Countries. We still have another day to put up with the Polar Vortex before things start getting back to our normal temperatures.

The News was finished before we shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Veggie Pizza for supper.

We watched Will Trent”, “High Potential” and “The Rookiefor entertainment this evening.

Now that there is no Pain in my Neck, I’ll head to bed to get as much sleep as possible.

Cold Weather Alert.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Kathy had another restless night while patting my side of the empty bed last night. Once she felt my return she slept more soundly.

All you needed to do to check the outdoor temperature this morning was to put your hand close to the Door, to feel the cold reflection. There was nobody visibly outside when we looked, except the Birds. Though it’s against the building rules some of the Tenants feed these little guys. We knew it was going to get colder the other day, when we saw Squirrels outside the Restaurant adding more twigs to their nests.

Since the Cereal we had for breakfast didn’t last, we enjoyed Grilled Olives with Cheese Sandwiches for lunch.

Kathy was cold enough to wear her Jacket, inside the Apartment while working on some research today.

Trying to warm us up, we had Open-Faced Manwich Sandwiches for supper.

It seems my Computer does not like when I stop for meals lately. Today I had to pull the Battery after both Lunch and Supper, to be able to make it work.

Today’s High Temperature was 9 F (-13 C) feeling like -8 F (-22 C) which is warmer that what is forecasted for the next couple of days. There was a Cold Weather Alert posted on all the Local News Medias. Our nighttime will feel like -22 F (-29 C). I know there are places colder that we are, and some that are supposed to be warmer, but I can only say to everyone to stay Warm through this Polar Vortex.

For entertainment this evening, we watched 9-1-1 Lone Star” and “Rescue: Hi-Surf”. More options than just the News.

Comment Response and Remembering The Big Tent.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

I thought getting to bed by Midnight last night, would help me sleep better. It did for the first Two Hours, but then the Pain in my Neck took over. Thinking that going to my Recliner would help Kathy sleep better, that’s what I did. Just as I was getting comfortable laying in the dark I saw Kathy standing by the bedroom looking in my direction to see if I was okay. Though she didn’t know I was still awake, I watched her go back to bed.

It was Three Hours later when I woke with no Pain to bother me. Returning to bed, sleep easily took over a bit longer than I expected. When I left the bedroom for the second time, Kathy was right behind me.

Looking out our Balcony Door, there was nobody outside taking in the colder temperatures. We enjoyed the last Two Pastries for breakfast, before taking our Coffees to our Computers.

We tried calling our daughter Karen to wish here a Happy Birthday but only succeeded in leaving a Voice Message.

It’s been fun reading about the Big Tent in Quartzsite Arizona, from some of the Blogs we continue to follow on our sidebar. It brought back memories of when we were there on opening day. It also reminded us that we could not see everything on the first couple of days. Besides all the Vendors with booths set up inside and outside the Tent there are RVs set up to attract people wanting to upgrade or simply to buy their first RV. There are also Vendors that are setup before and after the month of January nearby and throughout the town. There will also be carloads of people coming from miles around to see if there is something that they just can’t live without. Parking is not always close to the venue and it is not uncommon to have Traffic Jams for Miles away.

For a late lunch I was able to make a Bacon/Veggie Omelette, that we shared. By not overfilling them, I can better roll the Eggs. Again this week, we comfortably walked away from the table.

In response to some recent Comments, we used to make all our own Homemade Soups. It was when we went Fulltime that we stopped doing that, because it warmed up the Trailer too much and it was hard to keep all the ingredients on hand. We did carry quite a selection of Spices in a Magnetic Holder I made and attached to the walls.

Supper was the third meal we shared today that was late. To speed it up, I modified a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Hawaiian Pizza. This was a Name Brand Pizza that I referred to as having been made by Bean Counters. You can’t see the Pizza itself until you open the Box. I added a lot more Pineapple and Mozzarella Cheese. We have found the No-Name Pizzas are loaded with ingredients and cost far less than the Name Brand Pizzas.

For entertainment tonight, we watched the 2017 version of “Beauty and the Beast”. It even kept Kathy’s attention.

All the Weather Reports, we heard or read today are showing Extreme Cold Temperatures for the next Four Days due to another Polar Vortex. Please stay warm.

Chicken In Our Soup.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

I only briefly visited with my recliner last night, but I should have just spent the night there, considering how much sleep I actually got. I’ve mentioned many times that when I don’t sleep well at night, neither does Kathy and then occasionally she needs to make up for that lost sleep.

This morning just happened to be that morning. I had been on my Computer for over an Hour when she joined me. But by the time she sat down I was serving our Pastry and Yogurt Cup breakfast.

The strangest thing happened when we brought our Hot Apple Ciders drinks back to the Computers. Mine locked up and no matter how much I tried to escape the program the only way I could end the Thirty Minute stalemate was to pull the Battery before restarting the machine. Five Minutes later I was back to reading Blogs.

Our overnight temperature had stayed a constant 34 F (1 C) with lite Rain. Grass was starting to break through the ground covering this morning, but by 10:30 Flurries started to fill the sky. We lucked out with any further accumulation.

We enjoyed some Chicken Noodle Soup for lunch. I presume there had been numerous Complaints to the Manufacture, because we were actually finding Chicken in the mix today, unlike the Broth Only Cans we had been getting. That was not what we had paid for.

After doing up the Dishes, we spent the most of the afternoon listening to the News on the Television, while continuing to work at our Computers.

We finally had Veggie Wraps for supper after 7:00.

Later we watched a new comedy “Shifting Gears” with Tim Allen, before watching murder mysteries called “High Potential”.

With the Temperatures dropping for the next week, we’re not sure what we’ll be up to.

Warm Up and Stocking Up.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

Last night wasn’t too bad, I only spent an Hour in my Recliner, but that did lead to the both of us sleeping a little later than expected this morning.

With only Six Slices of bread left, we shared Four for Toast for breakfast.

By the time we moved to the Computers, the Sun was pouring through our windows. A quick check of The Weather Network showed the temperature was already 30 F (-1 C) outside. What I liked more was the forecasted high for the day was 36 F (2 C).

With a Shopping List in hand we headed out minutes after 12:00. The experts always say not to go shopping on an empty stomach, so the first thing we did was go to Applebee’s. They had advertised a couple of specials as late as yesterday, but as of today they had increased the price by $10.00. Needless to say we chose something else off the Seniors Menu. That is similar to the way Subway advertises their sandwiches at a reasonable price, but it only applies if you use their App.

Since we haven’t gone far this week, we stopped at Guardian Storage to collect our Mail, before going for groceries.

We headed to Dollarama to once again stock up on Juice, Refreshments and some Canned Goods, before going to Zehr’s to finish getting everything else on our List.

It took nearly an Hour to get everything put away, when we got home.

Watching the 6 o’clock Local News, the Weather Guesser confirmed the 36 F (2 C) temperature and Sun were responsible for getting rid of lot of the White Stuff. With the overnight temp expected to stay above the Freezing Mark, more could disappear as we sleep.

It was then we shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Three-Meat Pizza for supper.

Our entertainment for the night were the programs NCIS: Sydney”, “Fire Country” and “S.W.A.T.”. Not sure what we’ll watch again.

Computerize Nightmare.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

The minute I lay down in bed last night, I fell asleep. Four Hours later I was wide awake staring at the ceiling. Rather than start tossing and turning, I simply headed to my Recliner. Minutes after I sat back, I was again fast asleep. Hours later when the Sun started peaking around the Balcony Blind, I was instantly wide awake. I barely shut my CPAP Machine and went to the kitchen when Kathy joined me.

We enjoyed Cereal for breakfast, taking our Coffees to our Computers. I had to restart mine Three Times before any of my Shortcuts would work. Even trying to read Blogs it seemed the Links were taking forever to open. Looking outside, one could barely see past our Balcony Rail, and it wasn’t from Fog.

For the second time in a week, we had Italian Wedding Soup for lunch, probably because it’s the one we are overly stocked up on.

I’ve been trying to reach a Manufacturer about a problem with one of my Tools that cause my Lithium Batteries to fail. I had tried On-Line, but after not getting any Reply, I tried calling the Company Number. That was a Computerized Nightmare that after an Hour, had me agree to be called back. By suppertime that hadn’t happen.

We were watching the 6 o’clock Local News by the time we shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Hawaiian Pizza for supper. This No Name brand was loaded with Ham and Pineapple, where the Popular Brand we’ve been buying lately, must be assembled by Bean Counters.

We later watched “Matlock” and “Law and Order” for entertainment.

Cold and Watching Chicago.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

I resisted going to my Recliner a number of times last night, only to lay in bed staring at the ceiling. I managed to get up before the Sun but dragged myself through the day.

When Kathy joined me, we settled having Peanut Butter on Toast for breakfast and took our mugs of Tea over to our Computers. The 10 F (-12 C) felt like -2 F (-19 C) with the Thirty MPH West Winds.

I managed to get caught up on my Blog, News and Media Reading all before warming up our Split Pea with Ham Soup for lunch.

There was a lot of Data that I have to download on my Spreadsheet. Eventually it will all be used when I write our Blog.

We also watched coverage of the California Wildfires that was interrupted periodically by the announcement of a Hamas /Israeli Ceasefire. This was the same agreement that was proposed last May.

I didn’t wait too late to start cleaning up the Vegetables in the Fridge to make Stir-Fry for supper. Along with the meat that would turn into Bacon/Veggie Wraps that we would be eating just as the 6 o’clock Local News came on. I did more cleaning in the Freezer by making us small Sundaes topped with Bing Cherries and Chocolate Sauce.

Once the Dishes were cleaned up we watched Chicago Med”, “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago P.D.to finish off our evening.

Since I’ve done such a good job of not wasting food, we’ll have to head to the grocery store soon.

Colder Today But Colder Next Week.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

After spending just over an Hour in my recliner last night, I was able to sleep the rest of the night in bed.

Kathy nearly followed me to the Livingroom this morning. We had a full bowl of Cereal for breakfast just in case we had a late lunch, and it was a good thing we did.

As soon as I checked The Weather Network it showed our temperature at 18 F (-8 C). No matter how many times I would double check the temperature later in the day, it remained the same. Though the Wind was blowing from the Northwest, up to Twenty-Five MPH, the few Hours the Sun was out helped to cheer us up.

Changing things around, we enjoyed a Bacon/Veggie Omelette for lunch. The first few times I made these, we had to waddle away from the table, but today I finally made it just the right size to share and we were comfortably satisfied.

It was also at that point we noticed the Sun had disappeared behind a wall of Flurries. Though our Food Stocks are starting to dwindle, we can easily last until next week. I really don’t think we’ll want to go too far next Tuesday though, because the high for that day is forecasted to be 3 F (-16 C). Years ago, it did not matter how cold it got (-31 F) (-35 C), if a Blizzard or heavy Sxxw was coming, we would get hit and spend Hours digging out. Lately it seems our area gets very little of the White Stuff when it gets around the 0 F (-18 C) mark or lower.

We watched more coverage of the California Wildfires before sharing a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Three Meat Pizza for supper. The 6 o’clock Local News confirmed our temperature had held steady the entire day. They showed a warm up for the weekend before we take the plunge next week.

After cleaning up the Dishes we settled in to watch “Will Trent”, “High Potential” and “The Rookie” for the evening. They must be good, because Kathy stayed up longer than normal watch them all.

We’ll try harder to get out tomorrow.

Half The Night.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Click on the pictures to enlarge.

After spending half the night in my Recliner last night, because I couldn’t sleep laying down, I realized that I didn’t get enough Fresh Air yesterday to help me sleep.

I had our breakfast Snack ready when Kathy joined me this morning.

The early morning temp was all of 23 F (-5 C) with the Sun trying unsuccessfully trying to break through the Clouds. With an increase of Wind it only got colder as the day progressed. Every time we looked out the Balcony Doors, we saw Flurries but there was no significant build up.

We enjoyed our Grilled Cheese/Olive Sandwiches for a late lunch, before going back to the Computers.

Many experience the lack of energy, just by looking at the weather, at this time of year and we still have 67 Days before the start of Spring.

Things brightened up a bit when we enjoyed Sauteed Potato Slices, Zucchini, and Brussels Sprouts with Honey Garlic Spareribs for supper. We topped it off with Carbonated Juice (Fake Wine) and a small dish of Frozen Yogurt for dessert.

As soon as the 6 o’clock Local News was over we had just enough time to clean up the Dishes, before watching a few shows we found interesting. Murdoch Mysteries”, “Doc” and “Law and Order”.

The weather is not going to improve tomorrow, but we are going to make changes.
