Ceiling Staring and Late Programing.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

It just doesn't seem to matter anymore, some nights I can sleep soundly, and others are spent staring at the ceiling, thinking of jobs done in the past or even things that need to be done before we start traveling again. Last night I was dreaming of puzzles that I've done years ago, but it still added up to very little sleep.

I was working on my Computer when Kathy joined me this morning. Having set things in place, it did not take long to serve our breakfast snack.

The Sunny skies were deceiving until you put your hand close to the Window, where you could sense the cold 37 F (3 C). Taking our Coffees to our Computers, helped to warm us up.

Trying to do some clean up, we had Grilled Tomato and Cheese Sandwiches with Olives for lunch hit the spot.

The lack of sleep last night finally caught up to me after lunch, just like it is trying to do as I write this Blog. Though I don't like sleeping in the middle of the day because it could cause me more wakeful minutes at night, Kathy figured that I needed the rest and just let me sleep.

When it came to cooking supper I had the Oven, Stovetop and Microwave all going to make it happen. Due to Television Programming, we sat watching the "6 o'clock Local News" while enjoying our Honey Garlic Spareribs, Sauteed Potato Slices and Acorn Squash for our supper.

With the "Monday Night Football" scheduled for later this evening, the "11 o'clock Local News" was not even scheduled. We watched a few episodes of "Forensic Files" for evening entertainment.

Though it was not needed today, tomorrow we'll be busy running errands.

Early Time Change.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Just when things were improving for my sleeping, I'm on the downward side of the roller coaster again. Even though my sleep was broken, I managed to feel rested when I finally got up this morning.

There was something else I noticed as soon as my eyes focused, the Clocks. We have Two Automatic Clocks that change between Daylight Savings Time and back to Standard Time every year. The problem is they were programmed before the extra Month was added, so Three Weeks earlier in the Spring and One Week later in the Fall. All our other Clocks simply get manually changed Twice a year, while these have to be adjusted Four times a year. This morning was one of those days and I'll be doing it again next Sunday.

Though Kathy said she felt well rested, she slept nearly an Hour more than I did. Breakfast started with our Coffees at the Computers. That gave me the chance to make the Bacon/Veggie and Cheese Omelette for brunch, that would hold us off until a late supper.

With Northeast Wind Gusts of 27 Mph (49 Kmh) the trees were really shaking about sending the leaves scattering down the streets. That normally doesn't happen until we have a Frost but it seems that everything is changing. The Sunny 52 F (11 C) felt much cooler.

We had planned on a Homecooked Meal for tonight's supper, but since we didn't start feeling slightly hungry until 7:00, we headed out to eat. It felt strange going out after the Sun had set. After leaving from the rear entrance and feeling like we should be wearing Parkas, we made certain to return through the front so the building blocked the breeze.

We took advantage of the last day of Wendy's special for our meal. It also gave us the chance to watch many walking already wearing Costumes nearly a week early. Times have really changed.

Back home we watched the Disney movie "Hokus Pokus". We both saw it before many times, but it was fun to see again.

With cooler, wet weather heading our way, we'll see what we are up to tomorrow.

Cuddling The Covers.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Though I tossed and turned a few times last night, it wasn't from the Pain in my Shoulder. When the outside temperature gets cold, it is very noticeable in our Bedroom. The building we live in was built in 1960 and some would say that they live in older buildings, which is fine. Since we also live on the Eighth Floor with our windows facing South, there is nothing to block the direct Sunlight hitting the windows. Glass is made by heating Silica Sand and when windows are exposed to the Hot Sunlight for over Sixty-Five Years, they ressemble Fun House Mirrors. There is often enough heat from the Sun to distort the Glass. With colder outside temperatures that means we are sleeping in a Freezer, especially on my side of the Bed.

When Kathy is asleep and she is cold, she does not remain covered but instead cuddles with the Bed Covers from my side of the Bed. Not wanting to startle her wake, it takes time to slowly pull them from her grip. Once I accomplished that, I have to lay on a strip of the Bed Covers so they can't be snatched again. Eventually Kathy turns over and covers herself with the Bed Covers that she started the night with. When I turn down the Bed at night before she goes to sleep, I jam the edge of the Covers on my side between the Mattress and Box Spring, so I won't have to struggle for them, when I go to Bed.

When we were having our breakfast snack this morning and Kathy didn't know anything about it, because she slept like rock.

After getting a few things accomplished, we enjoyed Veggie Wraps for lunch and Perogies for supper.

Our energy level seems to be waning lately, so we watched "Fantastic Beasts", and later "Cruella" for entertainment.

With our temperature dropping closer to the Freezing Mark tonight, I'll be certain to lay on the edge of the Bed Cover, as soon as I go to Bed.

I'm going to make certain that we get out for a while tomorrow.

Changed My Mind.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Why last night was as uncomfortable as Wednesday, I have no idea, but there was more tossing and turning that occurred, so any sleep I did get was disturbed and carried no rest with it.

When Kathy needed to get up for a moment just after 7:30 this morning, she was surprised to find the Bed empty when she returned. She was even more surprised to find me already putting together our breakfast snack. This was unusual because we have recently started staying up later at night and sleeping later in the morning. It seems to be something that many others start doing as they age.

After spending time on our Computers, we enjoyed another Homemade Salad with Cherry Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Olives, Onions and Italian Dressing topped with Mozzarella Shredded Cheese.

With plans to watch the movie "Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1" this evening, what I had Planned to cook for supper just didn't seem right. I'd already taken Spareribs out of the Freezer to defrost, but my appetite had changed. I even looked at the Store-Bought Pizzas we had in stock and found they were not catching my attention. Also, since we did not get out earlier, so we decided to on something different.

We headed over to Domino's Pizza and ordered a fresh made Pizza to take home. Since it was a Friday night, there were Six People making the Pizzas themselves, Five People making deliveries, and Two People taking orders, moving supplies and passing the appropriate Pizzas to the customers. That's the busiest I have ever seen this location. Like usual, we had just made our order, when a crowd started jamming through the door.

Using Two Insulated Shopping Bags to bring the Pizza home, It was still steaming when we put it on the table at 7:00. There was leftover that we used as a snack when the Movie started.

Luckily, the "11 o'clock Local News" followed immediately after the Movie. The weather continues to slowly get colder, with more days of Rain in the forecast.

Here is hoping to get things done over the weekend.

Getting Things Ready.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

After spending less than a Half Hour in my Recliner staring at the ceiling, I thought I should try sleeping in Bed. It wasn't that I was not tired, it was my Shoulder that was causing me so much Pain, that sleep was not happening. Of course, when you are awake like that in the middle of the night, your mind starts to solve all the world problems, especially why is that Shoulder hurting in the first place. I had to enlist the aid of an Extra Strength Tylenol in order to get any kind of sleep.

We were back to breakfast snacking with Yogurt Cups added to the mix. We also continue to enjoy our Coffees at our Computers. Besides our normal reading I added some research that we would later put to good use later this afternoon.

It was 52 F (11 C) at 1:30 when we headed out. The Westerly Wind was keeping us cool, thanks in part to all the Clouds that filled the sky.

Our first stop was the nearby Shoppers Drug Mart, to have our updated Passport Photographs taken. Since we won't be needing them before the Holidays this year, we only need to get them submitted before the end of this month. Even though it was Seniors Discount Day, it took very little time for the both of us to walk out with the Certified Photos.

Since we had not had lunch yet, and it was nearly 3:00, we stopped at Wendy's to solve that problem. Besides enjoying our meal, this also gave us time to spend away from home, people watching and talking to Paula, one of our favourite servers.

Luckily, there were enough openings between the Black Clouds for the Sun to shine through, otherwise the Streetlights would have been needed.

We seem to be getting used to later meals recently, it was after 7:30 when we had Macaroni and Cheese for supper.

We watched a couple episodes of "Law and Order", before Kathy went to bed. Since I was putting the finishing touches on the Blog, I didn't mind the delay of the "11 o'clock Local News", because of the "Thursday Night Football". Looks like we'll be getting dryer but colder weather starting this weekend.
