Since I had a broken night’s sleep on Saturday night, I expected more of the same last night, but it did not happen. Once I moved from my Recliner to our Bed, I nearly made it through the entire night uninterrupted. A quick trip to the bathroom and I was again sleeping in Bed.
It was before 8:00 this morning when I headed to my Computer to check The Weather Network, then to open the Balcony Blinds. Looking outside there were signs that we’d had overnight Rain and the Clouds were so thick, it looked like we were about to have another storm. By that time the Computer had finally connected and brought up the information I wanted. The outside temperature was at the Freezing Mark and would only rise a few more degrees throughout the day.
Kathy joined me minutes later and was not happy to hear about the weather. We had Yogurt Cups and Breakfast Juice to wash down our morning medications. It was only minutes later that we were headed out the door.
Though we had layered up against the weather, we both felt the North Winds chilling us to the bone.
Our first stop was at Wendy’s where we enjoyed Bacon/Egg Wraps with Coffees for breakfast. Since we were running out of time, we brought our Coffees with us to finish as we crossed the City.
We walked into our Family Doctor’s Office only to see another patient leaving, while George was going in one of the Examination Rooms. We barely sat in the Waiting Room when Lisa called us back. Five Minutes later George was reviewing our charts. When told that my Ultrasound was happening later in the afternoon, I was told he would call me with the results as soon as he had them. He also agreed that the Blood Pressure Machines at the Pain Care Clinic were faulty. They should not feel like they are breaking your arm. For Kathy, he read the reports from the Specialists and said she was doing good.
Since there was time before my afternoon appointment, we stopped at the West End Walmart to get some walking exercise in. We did not know that this store had recently been totally rearranged. Suddenly, I was adding groceries to our Shopping Cart. When we turned the next corner, Kathy said she was suddenly hungry. In the past, most Walmart's had a McDonald’s outlet inside. Today, we were looking at a Mary Brown’s a Canadian brand chicken outlet. Since Mondays is their special day, we ended up having lunch while we were there.
We stopped at a nearby Shoppers Drug Mart, because I wanted to look for Vitamins that are highly recommended to slow Cognitive Decline. With over an Hour before my appointment, I searched without asking for assistance, then left empty handed.
Finding the Clear Imaging location I had to report to, Kathy stayed in the Car reading while I went inside. After signing in, I sat in the Waiting Room watching the News about the Plane Crash in New York. The problem was that even though I had opened my Coat, I did not take it off, because every time the door opened it was cold. It was like a dream, when the Technician was calling my name from across the room. We were heading for home Twenty Minutes, before my appointed time.
Getting home that much sooner would have been nice, but as we crossed the City, we were stopped by Two Separate Freight Trains less than Two Miles apart. By the time we were heading up the Parkway, it looked like we were driving into a White-Out. I dropped Kathy at the front entrance to our building, before parking the Car.
Once I was in the Apartment, I was looking out the Balcony Door at clear blue skies.
After watching the “6 o’clock Local News”, we were starting to feel a little hungry. We had some Store-Bought Greek Pasta Salad that we had picked up a Walmart today. It was more than satisfying and there is another serving for the both of us.
We later watched a few episodes of “Forensic Files”.
