Long Wait, Getting Through.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

With a slightly better night’s sleep last night, I was ready to start my day before 7:30 this morning. That gave me time to start reading Blogs until Kathy joined me an Hour later. Wanting something quick and easy for breakfast, when Kathy came out to join me, I was able to have it all served within Five Minutes without the Coffees that were served at the Computers.

We had just sat down at our Computers ourselves, when the Building Maintenance Man, John knocked on the door. The Company had brought in a Licensed Electrician to do a number of needed jobs today. He was replacing a light fixture in another apartment but would be able to replace our Wall Outlet in about Ten Minutes. It only took Ed Five Minutes to replace it and he left. Two Minutes later John came looking for him to do another job.

I didn’t want to wake Kathy too early, so I had waited until we were back at the Computers to make a phone call. Yesterday, I had tried unsuccessfully reaching our Family Doctor when we got home, but because he closes his office by 2:00 in the afternoon, there was no answer. When I spoke to Lisa this morning, I explained that the Bone, Joint and Muscle Walk-in Clinic was not going to do X-Rays just Physiotherapy. George had been concerned about possible damage to the Shoulder, so when I suggested he write out a Prescription for X-Rays, he simply said “We close at noon on Fridays”.

We were out the door by 10:30 on our way to our Family Doctor’s Office. Taking the same route as Tuesday, we had more Green Traffic Lights and were leaving his Office with the Prescribed X-Ray Requisite by 11:00.

Knowing that it could take time, we stopped at Wendy’s to get lunch. We were enjoying our meal when Kids from a nearby High School started filling the place up. The Manager had to threaten to throw some of them out, when they started stealing from one another’s orders.

When we got to Clear Imaging it was a Two Hour Wait before they took a number of X-Rays of my Shoulder. However, my Doctor had also wanted an Ultrasound to check for any Soft Tissue Damages. They would not schedule me for the procedure, telling me that I had to call and make it myself. This is a Private Company, not part of our Ontario Health Care System, so unless you are in an Accident, Bleeding in a Hospital, you are at their mercy. I called from the Waiting Room. They are so booked, they are no longer making appointments but putting you on a Call List, for when they have a Cancellation, which could take between Eight to Twelve Weeks. Strangely, after being called to the back, I was seated looking into an Empty Unused Ultrasound Room, but there are too many people waiting.

On our way home we stopped at Guardian Storage to collect our Mail before the weekend. Inside our Mailbox was a Package that I had been tracking, meaning that it was delivered by the Canadian Postal Services. Kathy was surprised to find the latest in the series “Big Lake Misfit” by our friend Nick Russell.

With the gasoline prices down to $1.239/Litre ($4.80/US Gallon) it was time to fill up the Car.

With the Rush-Hour Traffic in full swing, we stopped at Arby’s for an early supper. Before leaving the parking lot, we picked up a few more supplies at Dollarama. We saved time going home by driving through the Walmart parking lot.

The 6 o’clock Local News didn’t have anything new to tell us, except to wish a Happy Mother’s Day too all the Moms in their viewing audience, because they won’t be there on the weekend.

Later we watched “Monk” for entertainment.

  1. I always enjoyed MONK when it originally aired. Possibly time to check it out again.
