I was about to get an early start on my day
this morning when I Blinked. The
next time that I looked at the Clock
it was after 8:00. I managed to get things ready for a lite-breakfast, open the
Window Shades and look at the Golfers at the end of the street before
Kathy came downstairs.
The first thing I looked at on the Computer was The Weather Network to see what was in store for our area today. It
was hard to believe that they were forecasting 90% Chance of Severe Thunderstorms especially since I was looking
at a Cloudless Sky through the Windows. It was already feeling like 90 F (32 C) so cutting the grass sounded like a great plan. After
glancing at a few more things that we follow On-Line it didn’t take long for me to get my inside chores
completed before heading outside before 10:00.
Maynard was outside doing some cleaning on
their patio so after a couple of pleasantries we both went about doing what
needed to be done. It only took about Fifteen
Minutes to cut, trim and blow the grass off the patio. Looking at the Sky there still were no clouds.
Inside Kathy was on the phone with our
friend Vera who was apologizing for not visiting with us on Monday because she
was meeting other members of her church there. Kathy explained it was alright
because we were visiting with Ashley but we’ll see her again before we head
back south.
Kathy made Chicken Salad Wraps and had Corn
on the Cob cooking in the Microwave.
It all tasted great and was more than satisfying. We worked together doing the
dishes before sitting back at the Computers.
Dark
Fast-Moving Clouds were suddenly starting to fill
the Sky and the sounds of distant Thunder could be heard. When we checked
The Weather
Network it was flashing a Red Warning for our area. It warned against High Winds, Hail and the
possibility of a Tornado. Before we
had finished reading that report the Heavy
Rain started. Seconds later the Wind
started to jolt the Trailer. The
sound of the Driving Rain made it
difficult to hear one-another. Watching out the window we watched as one of our
Neighbour’s Awning collapsed under
the weight of the Rain.
Then it stopped. It had stormed for all of Ten Minutes and stopped. I went outside
to pick things up that had been blown around by the Wind. Our Tandem Bicycle,
Potted Trees, our Firepit, Folding Chairs and our Signs.
Neighbours were checking to be certain others were okay. The Neighbour’s Awning that had let go was
safe as one of the arms had closed by itself saving it from damage.
Then someone said that was only the First Storm Cell that had hit us and there
was another one crossing the Detroit River as
we spoke. He was watching the Radar
Tracking on his Cell Phone.
Within Two Minutes the Second Cell was on us but it lacked the
intensity of the First. Checking our
Rain Gauge, we had an Inch of Rain between the Two Storms. They traveled east through Ontario and
the Weather Guessers said it would
increase in strength. There were sightings of Funnel Clouds in our area but thankfully they never touched down.
We watched a couple of Dwayne Johnson movies this evening. The first was The Tooth Fairy which was a good Family Comedy and then Snitch which was based on an actual
case.
We finally had Macaroni and Cheese for supper just before 9:00. The Weather
Network is forecasting more
storms for our area and we’ve got things to do. Thanks for following along
and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

Words of Inspiration
I have been impressed with the urgency of doing.
Knowing is not enough;
we must apply.
Being willing is not enough;
we must do.
