If we are Retired and have no place special to run off to then why are we
waking up so early in the morning?
Being up before 7:00 in the morning is not a necessary part of our lives
anymore. After all the Window Shades were up and breakfast was one step away
from being served I was busy reading at the Computer when Kathy came downstairs
at 7:20. That meant that we would be able to enjoy the cooler part of the day.
Once we’d finished breakfast and our Coffees at the Computers I did my inside chores before heading outside to service
our Waste Tanks. The Humidex at 10:00 was only 104 F (40 C) but staying in the shade of the trailer where there was a
slight breeze helped a lot. I have personally noted that after the Black Tank has been emptied that by
using the Pressure Sprayer inside
that tank, it doesn’t clean out as much waste as it does when using the Grey Waste to flood the Tank. By flooding the Tank and letting it sit for a short
while, it will loosen the dried waste, allowing it to be removed. By the time I’ve
flooded the Tank Twice, the water is
mostly coming out clear.
Kathy wanted to do something today but wasn’t
sure what. She has been saying that she wanted to start going through our STUFF in our Storage Unit and to find some Merry Thanksmas Gifts that
will have to be given at the end of August. She also had some paperwork that
needed to be filed as well as cleaning out older files that are no longer
needed. With that in mind we packed a cooler with refreshments and an Ice Pack before having our lunch.
Taking the Escape, we arrived at Guardian Storage before
1:00 and walked out with a small bundle of Mail.
Then we drove back to our Climate
Control Storage Unit where we planned on taking things from there to our
daughter Karen’s house where she is planning a Yard Sale later this month. We spent the next couple of hours in 70 F (21 C) comfort sorting things out. Then the fun started while I packed
the Escape with things for the Yard Sale out in the 113 F (45 C) Humidex. I gave Kathy
the job of handling the door so she wasn’t getting too hot.
We made a stop at the Service Ontario building for some Information before arriving at Karen’s shortly after 3:00 and piled
things in the corner of the garage. Some was from our House that had been used in our Apartment and we can’t see using it in the future. We also made
arrangements with Greg to change the Car’s
Ownership to his name on Friday.
After leaving there, we were going to walk
around Walmart
but we remembered we needed to go to Vehicle Venture. We ordered Window Rain-Guards for the Escape. We’ve had them on Three Vehicles and find them handy. We
can leave the Windows slightly down
so it doesn’t get so Hot inside as
well as keeping the Rain out.
Our next stop was at Canadian Tire where we returned the Trash Container for Cars
and picked up two smaller sized ones.
It was then past 5:00 and we didn’t feel like
fighting Rush-Hour Traffic only to get
Home
and have to cook supper. We stopped at Wendy’s and ordered a couple of Chicken Wraps off the Value Menu, Two Small Frosties and a couple of Senior’s Soft Drinks all for $7.20.
They tasted great, weren’t overfilling and didn’t break the bank.
Looking at The Weather Network this evening I was a little surprised to see it
cooler in Quartzsite
then here in McGregor.
Tomorrow there’s a good chance we might get some badly needed Rain that will cool us down for a few days.
If you thought we were busy today wait until you see what happens on Friday. Thanks
for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.

Getting rid of things always makes me feel better. I need to get back at that as I have discovered more unneeded items in cabinets.
ReplyDeleteWell at least as you went through "stuff" it was a nice temperature...We put the air on out in the motorhome yesterday and I did some downsizing and rearranging out there. Needed a break from in here. Though today the "battle" in here continued...LOL Stay Cool,
ReplyDeleteIts good that you can find things you need to do inside. For sure its to hot for working outside.
ReplyDeleteKeep thinking cool thoughts while you sort. There must be something in the air ... I've been sorting too!
ReplyDeleteI admire your energy levels in that heat. I would be plopped down inside the RV in the recliner with a book all day.
