It was always great at the beginning and then for one reason or another, I'd stop going and couldn't wait to get out of the contract. They always had way more machines etc. than I'd ever use so resorted to just walking. I don't think I'm alone in that regard. Insurance ...I would look for a local senior center. Insurance will pay membership. They usually have an exercise room with the basics. Unless you're looking for the ripped look of a 50 yr old. My gym membership cost $5...Gosh, that's cheap. My gym membership cost $55 a month, whether I used it or not! Mostly not. Now, I try to walk (alot) most days and I see cyclists/runners of all ages out unless the weather is too cold.
