Change Of Plans and Working Up A Sweat.

That is twice, now and I hope to keep increasing that number. That is the number of nights that I by taking my Nighttime Medications earlier than usual, actually went to sleep within minutes of trying to do so. Since I have just taken those for tonight, I have to hope that this gets published before I fall asleep.

Though the Alarm was the reason we woke so early this morning, we both seemed to wake feeling refreshed. We only drank our Breakfast Juice to wash down our Medications. With our Food Stocks dwindling, the Plan was to have breakfast out. While Kathy went to get dressed, I went On-Line to fill in my Questionnaire. Imagine my surprise when it was not there, but a reminder for next week was.

When I Donate Blood, they reschedule my next appointment while I lay there. Then an E-Mail is sent to verify the appointment, after which we mark our Calendars. The only thing missing this morning, was the Questionnaire. With other things accumulating, we accepted next week as my newly appointed date.

We were out the door shortly after 9:00 and stuck to the original Plan to have breakfast out. Thinking it could be hours before we ate lunch, I thought that we could skip it entirely. We stopped at Wendy’s where I ordered us each Two Breakfast Wraps with Coffees. Kathy could not finish her second wrap. We took our Coffees with us.

Our next stop was the McDougall Medical Center, where I dropped off my new Glasses. They were ordered as Computer Glasses, but made as Reading Glasses, that would require me to look towards the Ceiling Light on the other side of the room, to focus on the screen. The problem is that my Neck could not take the strain of being in that position for that long a time. It was not the same person that I spoke to on the phone yesterday, so I had to repeat the explanation several times. Even when she read the Order Form where it said Computer Glasses, she could not see the problem.

Our next stop was at Guardian Storage to pick up our Mail. There was nothing on Saturday but today it was nearly full.

I had checked before we left home and made a mental Shopping List of supplies we needed to pick up. A stop at the Zehr’s grocery store, helped us to use up nearly an Hour of time. We found a number of things that we needed “On Sale” which helped to keep a bit of money in our wallets.

Since the Plows had not done a very good job of cleaning around where our Car is normally parked, I parked near our Truck. That allowed me to fill our Two Wheeled Folding Shopping Cart, before heading upstairs. When we left this morning, the temperature was 5 F (-15 C) with Northerly Winds, so we dressed to stay warm. This afternoon the temp had risen to 23 F (-5 C), so by the time we walked into our Apartment, we were both sweating. We had to layer down and take a break.

Once all those groceries were put away, I returned the Cart to the Car, then backed it into its own space before bringing the last bag of groceries upstairs.

The Weather Guesser on the “6 o’clock Local News” put a big smile on our faces, when he showed we could reach the Freezing Mark on Friday, before it cools down for the weekend. As he continued his forecast, he showed another Three Days even warmer next week.

We finally shared a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Pizza for supper, Ten Hours after we had breakfast.

We watched a few episodes of “Mayday” this evening.

Making My Point.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

I have mentioned recently how when I would try to sleep in my Recliner, but spent more time staring at the ceiling, robbing me of the needed rest. I spoke to Kathy about a possible remedy and she agreed it was worth a try. Instead of taking the Nerve Block Medication right before trying to sleep, I took them nearly an Hour before I tipped back in my Recliner. I may have stay awake for only Two Minutes before spending the next Three Plus Hours sleeping. When I woke from there, I immediately went to Bed to sleep for an additional Four Plus Hours. I woke this morning, feeling like I had slept for days and was totally refreshed.

I barely had the Balcony Blinds open when Kathy came out to join me. Since she was not up to a big breakfast, we again settled for Breakfast Snack Bars, Breakfast Juice and Yogurt Cups, before taking our Coffees to the Computers.

As mentioned yesterday, I had to get busy making phone calls. The first was to the Optometrist Office, to inform them their Glasses were made for Reading and not Computer Reading. After being told to bring them back, I mentioned doing it tomorrow when we would be in the neighbourhood.

Checking my Voice Mail, the call I missed yesterday, because it was before 9:00, was from the Neurologist Office reminding us of an appointment tomorrow, that we knew nothing about. The Receptionist said we would have to pay a Penalty if we did not show up. I told her my health was equally as important so just reschedule. She did. Most do not like it when you stand up for your rights.

Finally, I called the Local to inquire why my Cortisone Injection had been totally covered, and now Kathy’s Rheumatologist wants to charge Kathy for them. Darcy explained that Clinics are allowed to charge an Administration Fee for the service.

I barely finished drinking my Coffee when I started making lunch. I cooked the Vegetables in the Fridge that were about to be lost. We shared a Veggie Omelette for lunch, and we finished the last of the Cantaloupe for dessert.

There were a lot of opinions about the Groundhogs opposing forecast for an Early Spring. Early or not, it will officially arrive in 45 Days either way.

After watching the “6 o’clock Local News” we enjoyed Macaroni and Cheese for a late supper along with a couple of Cookies for dessert.

Since I have an appointment tomorrow, the Alarm has already been set as well as my taking the Bedtime Medications, before writing this Blog. I am hoping this works the way it is supposed to.

Driving Through The Flurries.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

Though there was some back and forth between my Recliner and Bed, I did manage to get a good sleep. The only reason for waking each of those times was the Pain building in my Shoulders. With that bit of lost sleep, when the Sun began to rise this morning, I was able to convince myself to just a few more minutes. It was when my Cell Phone started ringing in the Livingroom that I knew it was time to get up. Of course, Unknown Name, Unknown Number. We do not answer those calls. Too many Scammers.

We settled for our Breakfast Snack Bars and a quick look at our Computers, before heading out the door. There was a bit of a dusting that had to be cleared from the Car, before I picked Kathy up a the rear entrance.

Driving down Riverside Drive, the Flurries continued to the point that the Detroit skyline looked more like a shadow across the River.

When we arrived at the McDougall Medical Center, we were pleasantly surprised that a car was leaving, just on time for us to park. Inside, my new Computer Glasses were waiting for me to pick up. The Receptionist stuck a reading card in front of me to see if they worked and the upper part of the lens was void of any magnification. That is what I wanted, so if I looked across the room while wearing the Glasses, the room would not start spinning. They worked great, for the moment.

With time before our next appointment, we took our time heading back across the city. The Flurries would continue long after dark today.

We stopped at Wendy’s to have lunch. When I mentioned to Paula that we did not have any more Coupons, she pulled a sheet of them from under the counter. It is nice to be regulars. As we ate, the Flurries were so intense at times, we could not see the traffic outside the building.

Things cleared as we drove to Kathy’s Rheumatologist’s Office in the town of Tecumseh. We always prefer to be early for our appointments, but when we tried the door, it was locked. A small sign next to the door indicated the staff was on lunch until the time of Kathy’s appointment. When the Doctor reviewed Kathy’s Pain Levels, he made an adjustment to her once a week dosage.

We had to make another stop at the Health First Pharmacy to pick up the extra Medication that Kathy will need for the next few weeks.

Back at the Apartment, as soon as I turned on my Computer, I tried my new Glasses. The only way I can read on my Computer, is to tip my head back so far, I am focused on the Ceiling Light on the other side of the room. They are made as Reading Glasses, not Computer Glasses.

The Weather Guesser on the “6 o’clock Local News” said the Groundhogs may not have seen their shadows, but we can expect to see more Seasonal Weather for the next 46 Days. However, we could also see a few of them above the Freezing Mark soon.

After sharing a Store-Bought Thin-Crust Medium Pizza for a late supper, we watched a few episodes of “Forensic Files”.

I have calls to make tomorrow.

Cleaning Up and Lucy.

Our Location today is Windsor, Ontario.

It was another back and forth night. I basically just sat staring at the ceiling, while leaning back in my Recliner the first Half Hour. It was a blessing for Kathy because she needed a Tylenol Arthritis for the Pain in her Shoulders. That one saw her through the night.

The short time I was first sleeping in Bed it was interrupted by the Pain in my Shoulders, but it was easily remedied without Medication by simply going back to my Recliner. Since I seldom sleep for the night in my Recliner, I did finish it off in Bed.

What I found strange was that again my time spent hooked up to my CPAP Machines, in my Recliner and Bed was only a few minutes different. How can that keep happening?

When I finally made it to the Livingroom, the Sun was brightening the room even with the Blinds closed. Fifteen Minutes after I got up, Kathy came out to join me. Since I did not have time to get breakfast ready, we again had a Breakfast Snack, Breakfast Juice for our Medications and our Coffees at our Computers.

Since I hate wasting Food (Money) cleaning up a Cantaloupe that we bought Ten Days ago was in the Plans. It found its way into the Fridge for future snacks. I also cleaned up the Vegetables on hand for our lunchtime Italian Salad. No Olives were added.

It has been over Two Weeks since we last hat Epson Salts Foot Baths, so it was time. I always do Kathy’s feet first and she felt so much better. Unfortunately, I am not so lucky. Since she was a child Kathy has always been Directionally Challenged. If she is told to go Right she goes Left and vice versa. I struggle to trim my toenails as best as I can. It was much easier before my Hip Surgery but I am hoping to improve that.

For supper we enjoyed sharing a Salmon Fillet with Potato Slices and canned Peas as a side. We even enjoyed a small dish of Cantaloupe for dessert.

We later watched a SiFi/Drama called “Lucy”. It covers mankind from the beginning, to infinity. Scary, but it kept us on the edge of our seats.

I had hoped we would go out today, but tomorrow we have no choice.
