Getting Cleaned Up.

Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada.

Sleeping with the windows wide open with plenty of fresh air flooding our bedroom we had no trouble falling asleep last night. As a fact Kathy had no trouble sleeping later than normal but after a couple hours of sleep it seemed the only thing I could do was take a bunch of short naps. Finally I just got up and was busy reading on the computer by 7:00. I even played a number of games before Kathy finally woke up.

Once we’d eaten breakfast while Kathy went to do her morning reading and sending a Birthday Wish to our daughter-in-law Jen. I started gathering the laundry and stripping the bed since it was over a week ago that I last washed our clothes just before we left for the long weekend.

Luckily the laundry room was nearly empty so I got the washing going before returning to the apartment and remaking the bed with fresh linens. Kathy had started researching places we want to go to in a few years since we plan on returning to Florida again this coming winter. By the time I’d switched the clothes to the dryers and returned upstairs Kathy had already made our lunch. We both watched an environmental special on the Weather Network while we ate. Later when I returned with our clothes all folded Kathy had just finished vacuuming the apartment.

We were just about to head out the door when our phone rang. I was surprised that it was Greg calling all the way from British Columbia. He’d just gotten a text from Tyler’s hockey coach informing him that hockey practice begins this weekend. Since we were going over to cook up supper for Tyler he wanted me to help him see if his equipment still fits. Greg would have his friend Kevin to take Tyler out for new equipment if he needed it and would settle up when he gets back.

By the time we headed out the door we were wearing our raincoats because the rain was really coming down. Tyler had just walked in the door before we got there and was plenty damp. Tyler and I headed out to the garage and started rummaging through his hockey bag that had been closed up all spring and summer. Tyler nearly fell over when the odor hit him. Even though the clothes had been washed the safety pads had not so they were quickly hung up to air out. Fortunately only his skates no longer fit. Kevin showed up around 4:30 with his son Ethan who also needed new skates.

Kathy and I visited with our granddaughter Kylla and her boyfriend Noah. We even enjoyed a small plate of Perogie Casserole that our daughter Karen had precooked last weekend for Kathy to cook for Tyler’s meals. That’s the first time we’ve eaten Perogies that way but I’m sure Kathy will be asking for the recipe.

The rain is still coming down as of this writing. Thanks for following along and feel free to leave a comment. Be Safe and Enjoy!
